Switzer P800 Nissan Gt-r Makes Over 700 Hp At The Wheels

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys... saw this on the main page!

had a quick look around, found this dyno video and um i it looks to me 700hp @ just the front wheels haha fools

http://www.dragtimes.com/2009-Nissan-GT-R-Videos-18061.html

and not only saying that... i am sure a 700hp GTR would be faster then

( 0-60 time of 3.35 seconds and a 1/4 Mile of 11.28 seconds at 132 MPH )

what you guys reckon?

+1 BS

It's true that an AWD supercar with 700 AWHP should be going far faster than 3.35 and 11.28. That's almost as slow as the original R35. Double the ponies should make the car a low 10 sec car at least.

Maybe their babying the clutch/transmission. I have my doubts about its longevity when far more mildly modified R35s are breaking them at the drag strip.

You sir have no idea. You know the front wheels wont turn without the back ones!

JK

Um how about No? Its called disconnect rear drive shaft = only fronts? I aint to sure on there setup...

but if you watched the dyno... they keep the cam of the back wheels and also when it comes on full throttle only the front

climb the dyno rollers 'rear didnt'

and yup thats what i thought also... thats pretty slow for nearly over 50% power increase from factory?!

OK? whats with all the wanks on here?

I'VE READ THE ARTICLE AND WATCHED THE VIDEO!!

I'm refering to the 700hp one, because all the article goes on about is the 700hp, compare that to the GTR 480/ish

still the times dont matched the HP power to get up and go power...

it aint even faster?

R35 GTR's have a gearbox safty function that will reduce the throttle imput at the throttle body regardless of the position of the pedal if it senses to much torqe load on the gearbox.

Is quite feasable that this is the culprit behind the average times.

just because a car makes a certain amount of power is not always going to equate specatacular acceleration times as getting the power to the ground is they key and with a lot of modern cars there is a lot of computer trickery going on.

The most powerfull car is not allways the fastest.

Um how about No? Its called disconnect rear drive shaft = only fronts?

I'm sorry mate but if you knew how an R35 works you'd know that's not possible. in an R35 power goes from the engine to the rear mounted transaxle, and there is a shaft sending drive back to the front. so you could disconnect that and run in RWD, but if you disconnected the rear tail shaft you'd have no wheel drive. and even trying to run in RWD i'm not sure if the ecu would allow it.

  • 2 weeks later...

ps. the 700hp they speak of is noted to be flywheel hp at the end of the video clip...

so thats not 700hp at the wheels...

and no you cant run a gtr as fwd only... the movement on the dyno is pretty typical due to the physics of whole thing...

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
