i dont think its a big deal now...

theres actually a few out already.

$150,000 isnt insanely unreasonable for a motor vehicle...

if you think about it, there are a fair few cars on the road that actually cost the same as that or even more...

every SL500 or SL55s cost nearly double that...

i saw an R35 GT-R at Nth Sydney's "DEMiR Furniture" with his custom plates.

a shop that always has a black Lamborghini Gallardo a yellow Lamborghini Murcelago, Porsche GT3, Ferrari Modena, BMW M3... its really no big deal for 150,000$

I know i wont be affording a car at taht price in this life time thats for sure.

Its $177k on the road, and 27k extra than the $150k price tag isnt taht easy to find for some, ie me!

I thought they were going to be $155k drive away!

well thats the local domestic one...

the import used one is around 150k?

i wonder whats gonna happen with the SEVS rule for this...

since they are selling them domesticly, importing the same vehicle is usually prohibited to protect the countrys economy.

hmmmm

need answers from the importers here

yeah i never quite understood whomevers riches...

a few mates have rumoured to me that there is some sort of "car club" out there which you pay like 30,000$ a year and you get to drive various different exotics and swap them around with other members etc. (which they seem to refuse to beleive he or she owns them ALL)

unless he really does own them all?

hmmm

I'm not an importer, but the rule has always been the same: As long as you don't import a car manufactured WHILE it was locally available here in Australia, then you're fine.

Example 1: the R32 GT-R was available from 1989 through to 1993, but was only officially sold here through Nissan in around 1992, so anything before or after the time they were OFFICIALLY on sale via Nissan Australia is okay to bring into the country. You can also bring in any(?) GTS or GTSt R32s because they were never available here at all...

Example 2: the Z32 300ZX was never officially brought into Australia with the twin-turbo VG30, so you CAN import one of them because it's different from what Nissan offered.

Example 3: the S15 Silvia was also only brought into the country for a certain period, so anything outside that time is fine. Also, the S15 Varietta was never available at all, so you can get one of those too (but they are pretty rare, and are all non-turboed SR20s with an auto-box).

Yeah he just buys whatever he wants to drive. Hard life!

yeah, tell me about it....

he doesnt have to live like a scum, thats for sure...

i knew that... the EVO 7 and 8 were prohibited but because the car was discontinued, you can purchase it through importeres

so the R35 is coming to aust soon the imports wont be able to really sell them as they are doing now.

Im sorry mate, but 170k is quite a bit of money for a car - its not exactly a bag of peanuts is it. Anything above the 100k mark is almost too much to pay for a depreciable asset.

But then again, if you've got the cash - why not?

Should be a R35 GT-R this Sunday at the R34 Anniversary Event.

yes..dont get me wrong...170,000$ is shit loads alot of money to me as well

you could buy studio apartments for that price.

but what i mean is... there are ALOT of people that could afford that in AUST..

what i meant was..

how many 2009 Aston martins have you seen?

they the average price for them cars are 297,000$ - 497,000$

how many 2009 BMW m5s have you seen?

they are rrp $241,000 for base model

m3s are 162,000$ for base model

i see suprising amount of Cl500 Mercs...

they are $320,000

you always see porsches driving around...some of the 911s are around 240,000$

the other day i saw a Gran Turismo - Maserati 2009' in blacktown

thats 302,000$ rrp.

some people just simply have money....

looking at the R35 GT-R & its price tag... to a majority of us, it screams "Dream on"..

but to some people, its not a dream.

Peanuts? well nothings peanuts dude... but for Demir. the 170,000$ for the R35 could be 1,700$ in comparison/ratio to your wallet or even less? or even 170$ to him...

so if the car was worth 1,700$ in comparison to you...would you buy that car?

(If Bill gates saw the 170,000$ price tag, its 17cents to his wallet :P )

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
