I would try not to be rude to them but ask them to prove that it was you and your car. They will prob give you a warnig about it but if you admitt that it was you then they prob could.

I was speeding dowm Gnagara road and a cop pasted in the oppisite direction, I knew I was speeding and the cop knew I was speeding but because he didnt have any proof he only gace me a warning.

I think you are pretty safe mate

Nope they can't do jack.

They are trying to get you to confess by calling ya bluff.

This can fall under harrassment but is very hard to prove.

You should only answer each question driectly and politly. DO NOT give any addition information. Try to say less than more and get straight to the point.

I just got fined for an alleged 102 in a 70 zone (read: $250 + 4points)

I explained to the officer I couldn't have been going that fast as I just pulled out of a side street.... I asked to look at the radar and it was locked at 97km/h (read: $150 + 3 points)

He wrote the ticket for 100km still.... He says "You'll find it locked on 97km/h, but we saw you do 102"

Where do I stand on this ?

For the record, I didn't see my speedo go to 100 at all. I may be walking soon :(

Kym - I'm thinking you don't have much chance on this one. Their stance will more than likely just be that they took two readings, one at 102 and the second at 97.

HIPSI - good luck, if they don't have any evidence it could all disappear...

I sorta had a similar.

Whizzing down the freeway from Ocean reef, pass a motorbike cop stationary on the hard shoulder.

By Whitfords he had caught up. (Had watched him approach.))

Knowing he's there i stay on 100. Then his bloody lights come on pulls me over and trys to bust me for doing 110!

I say no... refuse to pay,

go to court twice. once to organise a date for the 2nd?!

On the day I present my RAC speedo check (was accurate)

and say Yes i saw him catch up yes i knew my speed was 100kmh

His "proof" was:

Him: "did you pass those cars doing 95Kmh?"

Me: Yes i did

"well you must of been speeding then!

Even the judge at this point said enough. waste of time. "dissmissed!"

(actually alot more was said, but thats dramatical license for you)

I take every speeding fine to court on principle.

Be very careful about what you admit to, as it will be read back as evidence in court - (no such thing as Miranda warning in Oz!)

As said above, be polite but deny everything. Less is more!

Write everything down as soon as you leave the scene and save the arguements for court. You have nothing to lose except for court costs of around $54 (last time I was there). More often than not I have had it either thrown out or at least discounted to the next lower bracket (which recovers your $50 odd bucks anyway).

BTW - I just recieved a summons posted to Bulgaria for a 70 in a 60 zone from July 2002!

I've been stringing this one out for a while now, so it will be interesting to see if they still have their Multinova calibration records for this period when I go to court in Jan next year!

Wouldn't some sort of record be kept on you and your alledged speeding fines?

Surely if they pick up that you've gone to court 5 times in 3 years, they can put together that your a lead foot.

This isn't a dig, just seems odd that they wouldn't eventually catch on, and screw you over?

Nope - only driving record is admissible, not the fact that you choose to defend it in court (as is your right). The more time I spend in other countries, the more I realise that Australia is becomming a police state.

I believe a lot of judges think along these lines also as they don't automatically side with the police prosecutor (who spends all day, everyday in court).

Also, the worst that can happen is that you are found guilty and given prescribed fine (which you will get anyway), plus court costs.

I guess it depends on how understanding your boss/lecturer is in giving you time off. Luckily my boss sides with me.

    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
