Uber awesome way to entice people to give this entry level motorsport a go, then to shoot people down for querying regs......

I believe in corrective criticisim but that 'frustrated outburst' was just a little uncalled for. I know you mean well but not all will see your posts as positive. Remember Brad, not all 'entrants' are in luxurious position of having the funds/mechanical knowledge to run and build mulitple cars with a 'carefree attitude'. Believe me i wish i had your knowledge, but ke sera sera, if i have a incident, i purely have to hand the car and money over to someone to fix it.

I for one appreciate what your trying to say but dude, it's just not exactly the perfect persona to lay down to 'new comers'.

Anywho... i will be out there giving it a go, and i will certainly be concerned about my car, but that wont stop me having fun and giving it a go.

Guys..I am here to help so if there is anything you are unsure of just send me a pm or post in here! I dont mind any questions you have just ask me :P

It's takes a bit of time and money to get your car ready for the next step of "racing"!!!

For all of you that are thinking of giving this a go WELL DONE! :)

Once you have all the gear it's smoother sailing and jump in and race!

OMG like 5 days to go till MRA!! :P

Cant wait till I get my car will be out there with you guys instead of the tower!

Thats my plan troy!

Going to use some softies to qualify on and then change over to the regular slicks for the racing.

Cant use the softs all the time as they tend to trash front diffs and only last 3 laps anyways. But they are good for a solid 1.5seconds per lap

most "entry level motorsport" guys don't want to race with heros who are "willing to bin it" in passing manouvers or who "will go under you into any turn" without regard for panel damage or its cost.

I'd be giving people like you a very wide berth, even in my shitbox S13. Not because I'm terribly precious about it, but to avoid uneccesary repair bills and effort. if there's light damage from both drivers arguing over a corner, fair enough. But a bloke who going to throw it down the inside in any turn "if you're in my way" should probably stick to the playstation.

At the end of the day Harry it's all just talk in here :)

When you hit the track the nerves set in and you start to concentrate..All the boys that race in MRA all think the same way as you posted above! Dont want uneccasary repairs bills but there is still some great battles for position..Its rare that rubbing happens..

Ill be there (spectating :[ ), Ill be sure to look you guys up :D

You better come up to the control box and say hello...Pretty sure I will be the only girl on Comms so cant miss me LOL!

What time are heading out there??

well after a day at oran park today In TRUE GTR fassion we have just finished pulling the cylinder head off.

It decided to overheat today and has warped the head accross number 3 and 4

Ill be down at the shop first thing, deck it and throw it all back together by lunch time.

The car managed to spit out a few 46.5's around south in the afternoon

It's just an old 4 cylinder turbo Volvo motor, 8 valve single OHC. But you should see the size of the hair dryer hanging off the side of the thing. I tell you what, it had us worried :P

Nicest guy driving it too. Came all the way up from Victoria. It was his first drive at Wakefield and only the cars second outing.

fark he did well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cant call him a typical volvo driver then hey!! haha

Now, theres the next round at OP GP within a month or two correct??

I SO have to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I managed a 1.27.8 in my 2nd session today at OP GP, no updated times though :P

Poor Ando had some issues well before he got to the track

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
