rims too big pat...?.... i had 19's on. he made me comply to tyre packard 100% with the same tyres as it says 225/45 on packard. = r34 stockies..

im tired of these stupid laws. and getting lectures saying that lowering my car stuffs up the aerodynamics and handling bla bla. and bigger tyres are bad.. some cops really dont know what there talking about do they..

all sorted. :P thanks Ian & Ashneel for the rims and bonnet :)

got my engineer cert so shouldnt have that problem again!!

Lol at the time posted haha, you got to tell me that engineer!!! :D i need one for my hood too...soo gay

Hey bez, im sure my bro will be fine with it, got his R34 stockies with 225/45 rubber on em. If you need em give me or him a call :D

Hey btw what tire size is ians new 18" going on? :S didnt check when he came by here...

Who was telling you that you need the exact same size as the placard engineer/cop/rwc guy, i got through my defect with 18's and 235 tyres on a car that came with 16's.

the engineer did mate. the defect was listed

bonnet - engineers report required, etc apply with ADR's

rims/tyres - to comply with tyre packard.

trust me i tried everthing to clear it without changing my 19's with 235 front 265 rear. but yeh didnt work.. see i tried to put on a stock bonnet and clear it but vicroads basically kept telling me to go away just cause it says engineers report required.. even if i put a stock bonnet back on.. sigh. was a headache. and the engineer told me if hes engineering just for a stock bonnet he might aswell just write one for the whole car since my ride height was a low aswell (have adjustable coilovers) i changed them to a standard height, put ians stockies on and still have stock bonnet on and got whole thing engineered.. 700 bucks later zz..

what was annoying was when i first got the defect and the cop gave me a lecture on why i shouldnt change a cars factory build because its stuffs it all up to what its meant to be built to. even got told putting bigger tyres on is unacceptable because it doesnt comply with my tyre packard.... 225/45 17's.

anyway all done and cleared. time to move on and keep car standard for a bit .... lol

What sort of bonnet did you have and did you try to get it engineered or just go the easy route with the standard bonnet?

had a fibre glass vented bonnet, well the bonnet got engineered but for some reason they wouldnt except the report until stock bonnet was on so =S did put on standard bonnet but still required to get cert for other bonnet which was really stupid and a big waste of time... and money

"The overall diameter of any replacement rim and tyre must not be;

- More than 15mm greater than largest diameter tyre specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series"

* Convert the metric measure to inches by dividing by 25.4. (225 ÷ 25.4 = 8.86 inches)

* Multiply the section height in inches by the aspect ratio (in this case, 45) to determine the section height. (8.86 x 45% = 3.987 inches)

* Multiply the section height by 2, then add the wheel diameter as noted in the tire size. In this example, the wheel diameter is 16 inches. (3.987 x 2 + 17 = 24.974 inches – Overall Tire Diameter)

* 24.974 inches to cm is 63.43 centimeters

Lets say you have 245/35/R19

* 245 ÷ 25.4 = 9.65 inches

* 9.65 * 35% = 3.376 inches

* 3.376 x 2 + 19 = 25.752 inches - overall tyre diameter

* 25.752 inches to cm is 65.41008 centimeters

Soooooooooo the difference is 1.98cm, which is 20mm hence illegal haha

But if you have 235/35/R19

it equals; 64.71cm

Which is 1.28cm difference; 12.8mm difference and hence it is legal?

No idea if im right or not, explain that to a cop and you'll be right.. :ninja:

What tyre size you got on the 19inch?

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
