Im sure my car is going to hate me after this morning. Had the 33 for about a year and a half and decided its mothers day so what the hell. Mums been looking at buying a small sports car for herself (mx5 mainly).

So i thought i would let her drive the line for a while this morning. Well she hastn driven a manual in about 5 years apparently, needless to say clutch got rode a fair bit but at one point i just about shit bricks she was almost on the limiter riding the clutch, anybody else i would have screamed my head off but she was pretty nervous as it was.

The clutch smell was so bad took 5 mins to get out of the car. All seems good though i got her to swap back with me and took her for a spirited drive. really enjoyed herself.

anyways just thought i would vent that lil

yeah man but still made my heart sink into my stomach hearing my baby screaming and whining like that was like nails on a chalk board.

Ive told mum when she buys her mx5 coz she wants a manual that i will have to re teach her how to drive one properly.

unfortunately shes my mum and i owe her more than a clutch is worth Col. Ran out of work for bout 3 months i did try the whole u break my clutch you bought it thinkin of replacing with a heavy duty item but meh its mum and she enjoyed herself and i had fun scaring her afterwards (nothing illegal for those who may think it).

Told her she will have to come in the car when i start doing track days. :D

nah feels good still surprisingly lol loving at the moment looks like i might get 600ks out of this tank which is bout 100-150 more than normal.

Ok im gonna have to ask, how the HELL do u get that manny k's outta one tank? lol im yet to get over 430 lol

lol i can go from about 300kms from a tank to 400km driving the same and by just adjusting my EBC from 14PSI to the lowest setting which is lower than the actuator so i drive around with the gate fully open all the time and get like no boost and if im trying and getting up around 6k i can just manage to get like 7psi

and if i drive like an old lady as well on low boost i can get up to 500km

no idea mate found out the hard way though ill get 100kms once i hit the E line plus been driving like a lil old lady lately. dont really care how ive managed it but more kms the betta

100k's? Really? haha i was getting worried about driving round the city when my car just about reached the empty mark lol i dont usually let the fuel light come on anyways but thanks 4 th info :)

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
