PLEASE fix this f*ckin server. It's VERY annoying.

I'm happy to donate to the forum, but it's gotta WORK first!

And with Prank's other business venture's into hosting, you think this site wouldn't be much of an issue eh?

working with web hosting and stuff you begin to realise how big of a job it is. they run on a massive database and the more people that use it the slower it comes. its inevitable.

Prank you've done an awsome job so far by the looks of it. keep it up.

i haven't had that message for aaaaages...then again I'm usually on at night when there's less traffic :D

i totally agree it's inevitable, as with everything.

But the past month it's gotten a LOT worse. I dont think anyone would argue that.

Between the hours of 12pm and 6-7pm EST it's dog slow... and the server busy message comes up.

It can take me 15 mins just to load up a thread and read it due to server loads.

I understand building a bigger and better server (depending on where things are now) could be very costly. But an indication of just how much, or what is required would be superb.

I also too, think Prank's done a wonderful job. 4000+ members, more activity than a brothel, and the web-site/forums are all totally user friendly and fast to DL if your on dial-up

You could all do us a favour by instead of uploading images to the SAU server host them on your own ISP's server (whom you pay a monthly fee to). That way when someone opens a thread which contains your images instead of it hogging all of the SAU resources (which 99.8% of users haven't paid a cent to use) it will hog your ISP's resources (which are far far greater than SAU's) and it will make everybody much happier.

If you don't want to just "hand over money" then next time your at an SAU gathering help out another way. Myself and another NSW user bought a 30pk of coke cans for the last dyno day which would have made bout $15 profit after costs.

Hey Guys,

Firstly - to all that are whinging about it that haven't contributed, thats not cool - these forums owe me a SHIT LOAD of money that I never get back... I'm doing the best I can.

Secondly - thank you to all who have said positive words, it really means a lot to me!! :( :( :) You guys rock.

Ok, the problem that most people dont seem to understand, is that this site generates around 40+ gig of traffic a month, so hosting is virtually a full server for the site alone, but i can't afford that, so I have to share a server with a few other sites (which are also quite heavy). The guy who runs the server that SAU is on has said that he maybe getting another server soon, so that may fix it.. otherwise, until I see more money from members or businesses, I cant afford to pay for a server for the forums on my own.

I am thinking of running a nationwide (run seperately in each major city) SAU forums fund raiser cruise... if I can get $500 or so, that will get us on our own server for the next few months.

This one might be covered... VERY soon.

As part of going membership/social club for the VIC people.

We are looking at donating a good amount to the forums and their upkeep on behalf of each member as part of the membership/social stuff.

The VIC stuff is crueently being undertaken by myself... most of the vic moderators... and a few others :)

So should be quite soon. Next month or two ideally.

We have regular meetings so i'll raise this again. And hopefully try get you as close to $500 as we can. Maybe more :)

depends on the VIC take-up i guess

If you get time jump into some of the Vic sections. I'm assuming you can 'see' the ontes im reffering too.

      2.8L Stroked S1 RB25 Fully built block (Spool&CP) and head (Ferrea & Kelford 272's). Hydro lifters.  Precision 6466 Gen2 1.00 T4 Divided. 2x 40mm Turbosmart open dump gates.  DW 1200cc injectors 2x AEM 320LPH Pumps Haltech Elite 2500, IC7, WB1, TC8, Etc.  4" Downpipe, 3.5" Catback.  94AKI (101.5ron) Pump gas + WMI (2x 1000cc nozzles) 463rwkws @ 27psi on a mustang roller dyno.

      I finally got it on the dyno today and luckily it stayed in one piece! It wasn't without its dramas though. First off, sent my power steering belt to the moon around the third pull. Scared me half to death. Tuner laughed and mentioned that often happens with RB's... I may need to look into adding the Ross power steering idler, or something a long those lines.  Second issue that came up was about 2 hours in, we realized the VCT wasn't working and had to go back through the timing and knock threshold once it was fixed (I had botched setting up VCT). That waisted a good hour or so. I was surprised to see that with VCT working, we saw a ~38rwkw difference across the powerband. More then I would of expected.  Without further ado, made 463rwkw@27psi. Not the numbers I originally set out after, but still more then enough to kill myself and I'm very happy. Mustang roller dyno's are known to be heart breakers compared to other dyno's. Two things that limited me, first was the hydraulic lifters/7600rpm cut. Tuner was adamant that I was losing out on a lot of power up top because of it. Second was the pump gas & WMI. He wasn't 100% comfortable tuning with WMI, and was honest about it. He stated he's more confident on E85/Race gas. I look at this as a positive as it leaves me a lot of room for improvement. All in all, very happy! I need to see what I can do about that rev limiter... I use to rev my stock RB20 to 8000rpm and now I have a fully built head that I only rev to 7600... It's bugging me.  Don't mind my fantastic picture/filming skills.  RB28 - Dyno (1).mp4

      Wow mate that's huge, congrats. Glad you found better people to deal with and all seems like it's going in the right direction.
