What a great weekend! I haven't been to a Deca since November 2007 and I had an absolute blast. Still just as much fun but with a lot of new faces....

Thanks Adam for letting me drive Big Red (Again!), you're the best! Big Red is just amazing now and so solid compared to last time I drove it. At least we had traction at the start of the day this time! :)

Saturday night antics were fantastic!

Highlights of the weekend for me:

BIG RED!

Launches from the 32 GTR, that has to get my vote as one of the best cars of the day!!

Making balloon animals for Bec & Dee

Scottsman throwing salt at Ryan

Adam Hot Saucing Scottsman!

Certain People decorating The Stigs Car

Making a singing Sombraro Bush in the main street.

Dancing like an idiot to some cheesy band and one SAU guy who will remain nameless that knows the words to every verse of Time Warp.

Listening to Shepparton Girls Burp and talk about girl fights in the ladies toilets at the Ozzy, they should have gone to the mens.

Thanks to the officials and everyone for volunteering their time to make another great SAU event.

thanks again to all the organisers and volunteers, it went really smoothly... everyone got through with plenty of time to have a break for lunch and for some smokeshows at the end of the day... everyone knows 33GTSt's are teh donut kings!

Sorry we didn't eat with you guys at the Mexican joint but I had some major sucking up to do to the missus... when we did rock up I was impressed to see what would have to be the biggest turn out ever... and it was farkin mayhem in there!... you animals! :) lol I always feel kinda bad for any other customers who happen to try and have dinner at the same time as the SAU clan... they should be warned hehe

from now on I shall be known as Nick, Professional RB Killer... the diagnosis is as suspected so its at the doctors awaiting surgery... thanks to Tim and Mick for the tow back to the caravan park and for Jack for coming out to Shep on his day off to rescue me!

haha troublemaker... No it didn't Nath, but it did develop a bottom end knock... sounds like it picked up one of the bearings... I wasn't as nice to it as you were, I gave it some major rev limiter love... was trying to overcome the weight of the Bigbird sitting in the passenger seat!

Does that mean that there is a manual conversion for the Pulsar on the cards, some time soon(before next DECA)?:)

Yup, that's what I'm aiming towards - not before next DECA though. It's a little expensive.

what are you going to use a strengthened SSS box?

N15 SSS box + PAR 1st-5th billet straight cut gearset + crown wheel and pinion + heavy duty clutch + Nismo 1.5 way LSD is the plan. Need to get the driving down pat first, in the meantime I can save.

    • He could just take the Bogan Cruise Ships setup... Already got a good setup, with blower, the auto was rebuilt too wasn't it? Perfect time for him to upgrade the tailshaft, diff, and axles...    And wouldn't need to waste money on redoing the Commos seats, as he could just buy race seats for the 5...   As a highly modded car he could avoid the ability to give it away to offspring too when they crash their cars...
    • It's really interesting how much it's moving left to right, and doesn't appear to be actually spreading. For this to be moving left to right, without flaring, means unequal forces being applied until equilibrium hits in one way or another.   Reasons it could be unequal; Piston sizes left to right are different sizes. Only minute differences. Pistons moving on different planes. That is, are they moving directly straight at each other, or slightly out of alignment. The fluid is restricted getting to one side.   Some tests you could do. Pull the bleeders on the left and right, fit each side with pressure gauges. It will allow you to make sure pressure is equal (and really, it should be as fluid flow is so damn low, so fluid flow dynamics shouldn't come into it).   With the calipers off the car, have both sides retracted as far as possible, measure very very accurately (think micrometre) distances between opposing pistons in four different spots per set of pistons. Firstly, on each opposing pistons pair, the measures on for different spots should be equal. If it's not, and especially if one spot appears to actually get closer compared to another, the pistons aren't aligned, and now the forces left to right won't be equal, as they're the forces fighting each other.   You can also pull all the pistons out, and very very accurately measure the diameter of them. If they're not equal left to ight in the pairings, and especially if the area of the pistons on one side is different to the area on the other overall, it'll all be out of whack.   My bet, is shit QC in making sure the pistons move in the same plane left vs right. Some minor out of square machining, and nothing will line up, things will want to move around.
    • Whilst putting a V8 in a MX5 would be fun, it would negate the whole cheap to run fun daily that the MX5 will be used for If I wanted a faster little convertible I would have got a engine check light, I mean a BMW Z4 M, but going off the issues that the guy at work who recently got one is having, it is lucky I didn't  Meh, horses for courses, the Bogan Cruise Ship is my go to for some horse torques
