i bought some glue today and went to attach it and found out that some of it must have falen off on the road where the "ahem" incident happened  . So there wasnt enough left to attach it.

What *ahem* incident might that be?

Please tell me you didn't have a bingle?!

And I'm not talking a Lara either, we'd all like one of those!!

I think we should just refer to it as "the " incident and speak of it no more :) .

I'm crediting some of the blame on lack of sleep (new Baby arrived day after Stagea). Now I'm so pissed at myself I can't even walk up to the car without becoming pissed (at myself). Hence the almost desparate desire to replace the front bumper with an aero kit! Oh and the stupid air vent thing which is half with me and half on a friggin road somewhere.

I am trying to get hold of an M35 ECU (VQ25DET) for a test remap to be done on it.

If anyone know's of a wrecker's anywhere in Australia that has an M35 on it's inventory please let me know.

The mines VX-ROM looks good and is about A$2k and is tuned to 100 RON fuel. . . I wonder if 98 would be good enough. . . but $2k is a lot of money. . probably get better mods for that. .

I have asked a mate to see how hard it is to get a stock ECU when he flys through Japan. .

That is a damn shame (so do you still have that deep sick feeling in your gut?).

Simple solution though!

Buy the ARC intercooler! Bolts on using existing pipes but does not use the air deflector, is much thicker and is a Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y. unit.

Teren,

Can supply a brand new engine control computer part number 23710-AQ800 ex Japan for $2850.

Many Thanks,

Andrew

fail.....

Whoa! Who was that through. FTG Nissan can bring in a brand new one for $2369.55 inc GST (which I still find quite expensive)

you know i actually did think of that since they're quite well priced. We're on the same wave length.

well we only need one ecu for test right? this is just to go to silverwater for them to work out a solution??

It's for testing and development, he doesn't want to risk frying one that belongs to someone's vehicle.

So that is why he is after a spare ECU so he can play.

I actually popped into SAS today and said hello to Tom, top bloke.

Just came across the second one too..

i think i will get im to email them

will we be able to get few guys to throw in for it?

Judging from the sticker on the 2nd ECU, it's a VQ25DE not a VQ25DET

From what we have seen so far the VQ25DET ECU's are printed on not stickers.

Looks like I may have tracked down an Australian Wrecker with an M35 Half-cut!

Even better they look like they are willing to sell the ECU on it's own, but I'm not getting too excited as they think it's a VQ25DE engine. I wouldn't think they would import a half-cut of that variety as the VQ25DET is the only model allowed via import?!

Hopefully I will find out tomorrow and then I can get excited.

I've also requested that this wreckers send me some pics of the half-cut so I can post them up on the forum incase you guys are after any of the bits and pieces left on it.

It's had a pretty major front on so I think the front will be dead but maybe some engine parts/dash etc will be good. Will post up piccies when they send them to me.

I've had another nibble, I'm not holding my breath but hopefully he will come back to me with some good prices after he has had a check around!

Hello Stephen, Pls let me know by reply if you still need the ECU you requested to prestige Motorsport. I am in Japan now + can let you know price and availability early next week. Thank You Ken

    • I dunno about that as a blanket statement. Pitwork is Nissan's "Nissan genuine" thing, and for stuff like timing belts, I have found them to be excellent. Of course, for things like oil filters, you always use proper trusted brands anyway, not whatever the OEM has taken to using.
    • Ahhhh... If you were putting 12V to the led in there, that's likely made it very unhappy. Chances are how you put power, was 12V across an LED that's meant to only have about 20mA through it at peak, and a forward voltage of about 1.8 to 2.4 volts. That circuit is likely only a 3V3 circuit, and will have a resistor in series with the led too. That's my guesstimate on that light, without having touched one.
    • Another vote for installing them and see how you go.  I mean, you already own them, why would you not fit them?
    • I have had too many of those over the years, my cars have a toolkit or at minimum a cheapy multi tool thing because its too easy to be snookered by some stupid plastic clip that stops you checking the battery terminal isn't loose.
    • Basically, if there is a part# on the nissan catalogue, it is a genuine part. There is a thing called "new old stock" which is stuff made years ago but never sold (or landfilled), but it is super hit and miss what you can buy. Other than some expensive Nismo stuff there is nothing new being made that suits these cars. The only time to be a little careful is (mostly in the US I think, but maybe Japan too), Nissan started rebranding some cheap crap maintenance parts like oil filters as "Pitworks"; stay away from them, if you are buying cheap just buy whatever the local car parts shop carries The three part numbers have an explanation on Amayama: 0V005 is auto, base style 0V015 is manual 0V505 is auto, hectic momo branded ones, maximum F&F points there!
