moderators please leave this here as i know there are members who would require my help now or in the future and im trying to help local members out, not make a mass profit from this

guys as some of you know i work as a plastic welder and have done for 4-5 years now i have even done work for a few members here over the years.

i have now started my own business up (a proper business with registered business name and abn etc the business is called "PLAS-TECH" i am based in Toowoomba about 1 hr west of brissy

i specialise in bumper repairs plastic welding customisation of plastic items such as welding up holes in items and plastic bumpers dash parts etc repairing foggy/unclear headlights and tail lights aswell as repairing plastic fuel tanks for cars and motorbikes motorbike fairings and rain water tanks and basically most things made from plastic.... youd be suprised what things we can do and most people who have seen my work in the past can verify this (please feel free if i have done work for you to say something in this thread as that would be great!!!)

i can also customise items to be used in other applications such as for example welding up holes in washer bottles and creating other exit points so it could be used as a intercooler water spray unit etc

in the case of most painted bumper repairs, although i am quite capable of doing it ,at the moment i do not have painting facilities but painting can either be arranged by myself with a local painter or you can get your painter of choice to finish and paint where repairs have been done

i will also be doing discounted rates for all SAU members

but anyway thanks for having a read and if youd like to know more please dont hesitate to throw me a pm and ill see what i can do for you, and spread the word !!!!!! ;)

it all depends how bad they are and if someone has tried to attack them in the past because depending what theyve done it makes it harder to get a nice even clear finish

around $100 a pair though

basically you get me the lights and later that day you get back some lights which look as new as they will EVER get , ill have to take some demo photos one day soon if i do one, id love some really bad ones to do for someone which ill do at a good price if theyre willing to take before and after photos etc for other people to see what the result is like

i can honestly say using some off the shelf lense cleaning products do work sometimes but only if the lights is not very bad at all (lense just just starting to discolour) once the light feels a bit rough to the touch and has a yellow tinge they usually dont come back to a good clarity with these products very well at all...

Its not really THAT bad. just a few patches that looks like its been "sandpaper-ed" if you know what I mean. If you can do everything in 1 day I might find time to visit my friend in Toowoomba and let you do it for the day.

I need a pair of R34 GTR headlights repaired and the front bar needs 6 drill holes welded up as well.

Do you come to Brisbane because the head lights will need to be done in the car. Broken/missing mounts needs new ones and holes patched.

Pm me if you will come to my place

Thanks

and those ones came up absolutly mint too... a far cry from what they used to look like hahaha

did u end up deciding to paint the other ones i modified for you?? theyll look shit hot if you do

haha clear headlights>yellow headlights !

yeah will be painting them should look good when finished :)

Jon has done some plastic welding for me, can vouch for the quality of the work and welding, absolute mint job, I love it, he customized the centre console on my 32, I wanted it all to look factory and neat, welded up the centre to fit 4 gauges and fitted the heater controls down where the ashtray once was, will definatly get work done to the 33 by Jon. :(

So I pulled the headlights outta the 33 and had em done by Jon.

Anyone who has seen my car in the past will know that my headlights were crap. They had done 250 000 odd ks and id used polish on them before but limited results.

So, I got a before and after shot, result is pretty damn good if you ask me. Too bad my 33 hasn't seen a road in nearly 2 years.

(scuse quality of pics, camera phone :))

My headlights are in exactly the same condition as the before shot of BelGarions headlights!...

Where abouts are you located and can you PM me with a price to get them checked out and fixed up!...

Cheers

thats pretty typical for a s2 r33 front bolt on lip... ive done a few in the past... youll also find that the parts that are glued to the back of the lip with the bolts in them may also be cracked off the lip too... very very common...

    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
