No xr6 turbo sadly , gt4 was fun with that car ,

just bought the 2j chapperal a cold hard 14mill.......

xr8 pops up in the used car lot but very rare took over a yr for me , now i see it everynow and then but itd 1.5mill and cant be sent

curently doing the bspec online sesonal event and earning 4 mill for 30mins

the chaparel is going to get nerfed in the next update from what i read. the fan that sucks it to the ground is going to be better represented as down force.

and a new car pack etc. aswell as test coarse! YAY finally a premium Beetle. cant wait

CLICKIT!!!

will add you as soon as i get back on the PS.

the monaro/commo is in the used car dealership, you just have to keep an eye on it and check regularly enough. (on this note. if anyone happens across a 400R they dont wanna keep, send it my way "Resnort", as i want one to fully modify. so i can keep my current one standard )

the XR8 as far as i know is only the old AU touring car isnt it?? which you win along the way somewhere, but also comes up in the UCD

The 400R is now available in the Online Collectors Dealership. 120,000.

The new beetle is entertaining, I modded mine and it tries to pick up the inside wheels and roll over all the time lol.

The AU V8 supercar is a fairly disappointing drive you're not missing much don't worry.

Edit: If duping cars is still possible more than happy to send it to ya.

i liked the xr8 in the older games. sure it isn't the fastest thing in the world, but it handles ok, and if setup right it's good for sliding around the track (without full on drifting).

ok so i bought a few beetles..... one is fully blown with both stage 2 and 3 turbos, the other ive done up to have the HP and look of my actual beetle....

they look fantastic (other than the usual lack of wheel choices), and actually handle quite well..............but, they got it entirely wrong with how they take off, and the weight of the car. over 1000 kg fully reduced is still 200kg over standard empty weight. but thats not what "bugs" me, the fact that a 200hp beetle cant spin the wheels from a standstill is just wrong.

at first i thought, oh thats just the stage 3 high rpm turbo kit.....so i tryed the others and still nothing. now i drive full clutch with a G 27...and no amount of clutch dropping fixed this.

so then i built my second bug, to replicate mine as best possible. 75 hp with what is alot more mods than my actual engine has to achieve the same result, then put it on the test track.......11 seconds to 100km/h. WRONG! and a 19 second Quarter...also quite wrong. and the same issue, even with comfort tires its a chore to get it to spin the wheels and the launch off the line is nothing like it should be :(

rant out, i still love em, and having a lot of fun driving them.

anyone been working on setups for the SS route X ?

i've managed to get bugatti up to 446km/h , but i've seen people go much faster than me ( i estimate about 460km/h). i've tried fiddling with the gear ratios, aero and suspension setups. but cant seem to crack the 450km/h mark.

any ideas?

aero as low as it can be, no slipstream. gear ratio's set to a top speed of 460km/h ( tweaking of the final gear).

If i bring the final ger ratio so its set to a top speed of 470km/h, it will actually lose about 4-5km/h from when the gear was set at 460km/h.

ride height at its lowest ( F/R)

sway bars at 7 ( F/R)

running soft slicks

between 1/4 -> 1/2 a tank of fuel with i do my timed runs.

i just cant seem to figure out how they can reach that speed.

what about if you set the gear ratios so the top speed is only about 465kmh? maybe try putting the front aero up a bit (doubt it will do anything, but worth a try).

just looked at a video or 2. one said that you tweak the diff settings (initial torque to minimum), plus low suspension rates.

is it possible that the track has a slight incline in one direction? maybe try spinning around and heading back in the other direction and see if it makes any difference.

Thought I'd get my b-spec drivers to start doing more endro's so I did the Laguna Seca one with the little caterham fully worked, the thing did 70 laps before pitting due to the tyres, and if it had an larger tank by 4 litres it could of done the whole race without refueling LOL

GT5 shits me sometimes... I did a huge update on Monday night (made bigger cuz my shitty wireless broadband is slow), and then i turn on tuesday night... another update! This one only 80mb.

I'm not shitty that they improve the game... i just hate my internets! /Rant

Loving being able to change rims on standard cars now.

finally got my pics off the PS3. heres some of my cars. the McLaren is just mental fun

Found em! nice.

Maybe we should have a sub-topic for GT5 photography. I get bored enough to actually do this crap... and obviously so do others (tho probably not many).

made this a few days ago.. monday i think it was.

i love this sort of close racing, especially on the test track

sorry about the small video, you'll probably need to view it full screen or in the larger player. i was concentrating on fast upload rather than the video size.

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
