Hi everyone,

My parents had recently bought a stagea m35 ar-x. I was originally after an Apexi pod filter but i was unable to find one for that particular model. Would anyone know if they are they same fittings as the older model stageas or r34? Or any highly rated pod filter that anyone would recommend.

any help would be appreciated.

cheers!

i believe they are different to C34 intakes.

the V35 kits apparently dont fit either, but considering they use the same airbox setup, i dont see how they would. but its a risk.

there ARE M35 kits, but if youre buying from japan, be aware you MUST have one for an NM35 VQ25DET. or just put a panel in the stock airbox like most of us have anyway

Yes, the Blitz LM and SUS Power pods both come in a kit for the NM35.

Don't think that they offer the greatest filtration though.

Try to find a place that stocks 3A Racing pods, much better than Apexi and about a third of the price.

If you find a store that stocks them, get them to fit it

Same airbox, different intake piping (obv).

but remember the pod sits where the airbox would (seeing as its removed) so i dunno why a V35/PM35 one wont fit if they run the same airbox.

anyway, nothing is better than an apexi pod

For the same reason that lovely Mishimoto radiator did not fit in my M35, bit fits straight into a G35/V35...

"anyway, nothing is better than an apexi pod "

As usual, I enjoy your sarcasm, Iain!

thanks for that. ill see how i go about sourcing out a 3A Racing one. has anyone here have one on and would you need an adapter as well?

cheers!

Don't have one on (if I ever get around to my custom airbox I will though - so many things to do...), but here are the dimensions;

Width: 160mm

Height: 130mm

Neck: 77mm

The neck goes onto the pipe, so I guess if the measurement fits, it should* fit straight on your AFM if you take the adaptor plate off.

Alternatively, you could have an adaptor plate made up to fit?

OR you could just put a good quality panel filter in.

I've got a Blitz SUS Power Kit but havent put it in yet. It's still new in the box and I might be selling it as the car "might" be going.

From past experience, I've had no issues with the SUS Power filter. I used this on a 350Z and going on the track a few times (and going off into the dirt), the filter has worked pretty well and found no issues with any dirt going beyond the filter itself. What I did notice was dirty it was in a short period of time so had to clean it by blowing compressed air from the inside out.

They certainly are nice piece of kit.

Stainless Steel mesh, so no need to replace.

Can you post pics of the kit?

It is just the pod and the adaptor plate for attaching to the AFM, yes?

I paid about 70 bucks for a k&n panel filter, tho i have the power duct too.. probably the safest one to use i guess. f**k pods and other filters. hks ones cause loads of trouble for my precious front compressor wheel

Which panel filter from K&N fits the M35? There are a shitload of them and I can't find one listed for the M35 or V35 anywhere (I read somewhere the V35 has the same airbox).

Don't want to get the wrong one.

if its to fit in the standard airbox, then yes the V35 airbox is the same. AFAIK the Z33 may also take the same filter. come to think of it, its a fairly standard size and i bet you about 50% of japanese made cars will take it. when i put my blitz in, the back of the box listed probably over 100 car makes and models that it suited.......

    • Hey Murray, hope all is good. I took your advice and put the filler first then the putty. Seems like a much better result but i noticed there are still pinholes. I even had pin holes when i initially put the putty on the body filler. Do you think it has something to do with my spreader being f*cked? I attached some images. This is the intially body filler i sanded. No putty yet  Applying putty. Final result after using wax and grease remover can see the pin holes. I just noticed as i look at the putty application it looks wavy not sure if it's supposed to be like that or because of the spreader.
    • Hey all just wanting some advice. I’ve just compression tested my RB25det and these are the following results  Cyl 1 - 135psi Cyl 2 - 135psi Cyl 3 - 120psi Cyl 4 - 140psi Cyl 5 - 130psi Cyl 6 - 125psi   do these numbers seem ok.  Thanks in advance
