Hi guys

Was just looking on the Lakeside calendar and saw that there is a general practice day this Sunday (16th August)

http://www.qldraceways.com.au/main.php?menu=qri02

Just wondering if anybody is going to this?

Thanks

I'll be there :(, well, hopefully a few of us will be ;)

I couldn't find the entry form on the website for this particualr day so I just called the office on

1800 RACERS and she emailed it over to me.

I don't think there'll be timing.

I wouldn't leave entry til the day, I did that once and was turned away, full.

I want to see pics of this new wing!

I backed to backed it Roy, first with GTR wing with Nismo lip, then another bootlid with the alloy wing.

It was given to me, and I had a spare bootlid, so I figured I'd try it...... I do hang my head when it's on there though :/

And this is the GTR it came in on mate.

haha, mates, as much as it really pains me to say it, I do think it will be quicker with it on.

Now, there was no official timing out there on Sunday, so I cannot say for sure, so I'm only judging by the seat of my pants. Keep in mind I also only had two flying laps before the gearbox popped.

1. I set the gurney flap to the most aggressive angle to try for the biggest change possible for the sake of actually feeling it.

2. It pulled 5th in around the same spot on the straight so it's not creating extra drag.

3. On every 3rd gear corner I felt like I could get the power down earlier. So, Caroussel, Hungry, and Eastern Loop, I reckon I was fully on the gas 10 to 15 metres earlier.

4. It was carrying more speed under Dunlop bridge (top of 4th gear), and it seemed a little less nervous in the bum.

5. It seemed a little less prone to understeer in the fast corner entering the straight.

6. It broke 3rd gear exiting Hungry, maybe the extra grip was the straw that broke the camel's back?

If I really am able to get the power down that much sooner, it's gotta be worth some time...... DAMMIT! lol

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
