Are you referring to the blow off valve noise or "turbo dose" noise?

If so here's a thread all about it.

i didnt think it was even possible to get wastegate flutter. I think you may be meaning an external wastegate? if the car was really loud going past while on boost, it would be that. its a screamer pipe that goes onto the wastegate. this is illegal to have, but on the right setup it sounds good.

Flutterdump is when the BOV is a cheap POS or the spring in the BOV is too stiff and U back off and it starts fluttering then the BOV vents. It's considered a problem and can be fixed with a much softer spring. As long as the BOV is plumbed back like it should be, it can be soft enough to stay open on idle without and probs. As soon as U give it the tinyest bit of throttle, it slams shut.

    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
    • Sounds like a misfire. Check fuel pressure and don't even think about going into boost while it's like this unless you enjoy engine rebuilds.
