Since i have had a china manifold for all these years, it was time for a upgrade on the old RB25/30 in the R32...

So here are some pics of how it was made...

Its been since put on the car and it makes some decent power, had no idea how crappy the china manifold was! i picked up about 50hp on the same boost. now it makes 493hp on 1.2 bar.

Even the flange was made in house, it takes some time but its one very strong stainless manifold!

Was talking to the guy who made the manifold today... and then his friend came up to me.... I told him the old china manifold i had for many years, and now the new manifold made alot of extra power....

he had a big smile on his face... and said.. "now you know the difference of something made in china or something Indian made"

Sorry i been a bit lazy in this thread latly.. Will have some more cool stuff soon.... atm we got a few nissans in the shop, 2 us spec 240sx's... and a r33 i have some triggering issues with....

also the drag pro series is back this month!

So today a Supra came in that i tuned last year, the guy sold it to someone in Oman, owned it a week and they screwed with it, changed the plugs and done something with the fuel system..

So after doing some investigation we put the old plugs back in, whacked the car on the dyno and it was leaning out, checked the pumps and worked out 1 was not working, it has a big fuel system, 2 044's and a greddy marked swirl tank.

So i quoted the guy for 2 new 044's then when we were installing them we realised they were not a direct fit, so I compared the new pumps to the old ones and what do you know!!! CHINA!!!

Finally found the china 044 pumps that I heard about and compared them together, there are quite a few differences, the quality you can tell straight away, the pressure end has a smaller outlet and the bolt is smaller also, the + and - on the other side where you connect the power, well it barely looks like a + anyway, they were also not marked with any serial numbers or model's or anything, and there was a considerable amount of weight difference between the 2.

Here are some pictures, luckily the car welcomed the new pumps and no engine damage was done this time, but it needed a full re-tune.

2 fake china's on the ends and the genuine 044 in the middle.

Its good to be aware of this, the 2 of them together did flow enough power for 600hp at rear wheels on a 2jz with a t51r on lowish boost, but whats the point when they can fail anytime?

So yeah had to share this with everyone!

so i found this pic on facebook, someone in Georgia made it... its pretty funny, they are finally catching on...

The last picture was taken at the same event where i posted a pic of my r33 a few pages back, it was called "Drift King" that was the winner.

Good ole Georgia :)

ohhh and took the R32 out on the F1 track again for some drifting...

This needed to be posted in Forced Induction why?

hehehee... Jono allways had a way with words...

cheers mate =) even if it was lagged a few years!

must be runnin a 500mm compressor tonight :)

Basically without SAU, my GLT-00Y and all the adventures all those years, I have had more then my fair share of noob moments on here, i remember i joined here because i got run off the road by a big semi trailer and smashed 2 of my nice crome wheels back in 2002 only weeks after buying the car.... without SAU id never be where I am today.

Was looking for some stock wheels and info on other wheels that fit....

Anyways... cheers to SAU and all its members, big or small... short or long... black or white... ummmm yuddah yuddah yuddah... Just keep flying that Nissan flag! :)

Man just put off going to the movies to read this haha, you are a legend.

Just reading back a few pages and you said you purchased a r33 GTR so what cars do you currently own over there now? And which one is your favourite I love your 33 gtst let's hope it makes a comeback

I liked Paul's quote better:

"...the car has a turbo and is performing...so id say thats forced induction performance"

Cracked me up when i first read it.

And +1 on the Guilt toy = legend :-)

yeah yeah yeah.. ok ok the cheques are in the mail... lol!! settle down

SO I changed the front bumper on the 32 to a gtr one, but it still has the gts carbon bonnet...

here is a pic... fail or no fail? its starting to grow on me but it does look a bit off i think....

post-1240-0-72440800-1336934452_thumb.jpg

the weather is starting to get warm now, and the Z don't like the heat very much..... but she is coping... its only 42 every day i don't know what will happen on a 50+ day

  • 2 weeks later...

some updates....

the cops impounded my 350z for a month, because its too loud... its not even that loud... but anyway i should be able to get it back tomorrow (got some connections who can make it happen) so ive had a car impounded in georgia and in the uae now, but it never happened in Australia... lol

so its back to dailying the r32

anyway I think i have pretty much taken everyones theory about pump gas and destroyed it... i remember a really well known tuner telling me that you cannot go more then 600hp on pump fuel....

the black nissan patrol is back, and tuned it up again and now on 100% pump gas with no water meth injection or anything its pushing out 1065hp at the wheels on 2 bar, its a very soft tune because the injectors are maxxed out up top :(

hopefully putting a set of id2000's early next month and a water methanol kit and see what happens.

sooo yeah... over 1000rwhp whats that.. 1200hp at the engine? with pure pump gas at 45c a litre. cannot believe that shit. if you can tune cars on pump 98 like this why would you ever need race gas?

post-1240-0-59858100-1337716684_thumb.jpg

Thats awesome man well done.

I dont think that 600hp is the limit for pump i think its more the risk with pushing big numbers on pump, due to the octane.

Do u feel the pump over there is a higher octane than our 98 in Aus?

  • 4 weeks later...

I am going back to Georgia for a week tonight, there is a car i need to tune there, some WRX, they are payin me for it all expenses paid so its a good excuse to get away from the 40 - 45deg c heat.

will post some pics... will be a shock to the system going back there thats for sure.

they opened the new race track there so it will be interesting, and get to see some old friends

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
