So today was interesting. Started off my deciding to tow the Skyline down to EFI Performance instead of drive it down. First hurdle was the car's exhaust was too low to load it up, even with a few blocks of wood under the ramps. After a while we decided we were going to jak the trailer up whilst attached to the car at the towing end to help decrease the angle from ramps to trailer bed. It worked a treat. So i was all hooked up, ready for the 2hr drive to get the car looked at.

Arrived at EFI at around 10:30 and one of the workers were good enough to help me get the car off the trailer. This time thought we snagged the ramps off the Dyno and it made it about a million times easier and it came off the trailer no problems with heaps of clearance.

Sean got it on the dyno and had a play around checking up on a few things and making sure everything was in order. It turned out the timing was 5* out. I expected it to be out a little with the half moon indicator saga earlier. After a few runs Sean came out of the dyno room with power run print out.

429rwhp!!! I was instantly like WTF!

Turns out that my Walbro in tank E85 pump isnt working properly and is giving up the ghost a lot earlier than it should. Sean also said that the intercooler size is also a concern and probably need to get a bigger one to help the motor out. Last of all the injectors, at 1000cc even with increased fuel pressure they will be maxed out around 600rwhp mark.

After a few moments in discussion with the guys there and the best way to move forward to get it ready for Powerplay on May 10 was to address the fuel system at least. It was decided to leave the car there for a few days and get an external fuel setup.

Going with a surge tank and twin 044's then reusing the Walbro as a lift pump. Then we will be able to see what the motor can really make.

hmmmm makes sense that injectors maxed with E85.

Surge tank with twin Bosch 044 and 2000cc injectors will certainly sort it out.

Not that cheap though :/

But for 450+ rwkw its all worth it.

Sean knows his stuff very well mate and I'm certain he will sort it out.

Hey mate, reading through the thread, and as much as i read, i cant stop thinking about that front lip!!!!

any chance you remember where you got it from/what kind of lip it is?

Many thanks

Bronson.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
