I just avoided a huge car accident and in the process smashed in the two left side enkei mags hitting a kurb.

I was driving up the beach road on doddi's beach, following a VL Calais Turbo and looked to my right to look at some putang... and there was a camera on the other side of the road coming towards us and he decide that he wanted to turn right and pulled out infront of the calais. The calais locked it up and i chucked on the skids he fully T boned the camera and I pulled off the breaks and swerved into the other lane between 2 islands and hit the 2nd one smashing my both left enkei's and my front bar a bit. i pulled it back and went straight up the road.

When i went back and made a police statement and stuff both cars were write-offs and the calias went about 10 metres from impact point and the camera went about 30 metres. The old guy in the camera (he was driving very slow) got cut outa the car with the jaws of life and the 2 guys in the vl were ok. I am a bit stirred up and pissed about my enkei's but im ok, im going to go jack up my car now and check all the suspension... i'll post some pics later tonight....

moral of the story look at putang while not following a VL.

im gonna ring the chick i been after for 5 months tonight and tell her everything....

life is too short boys.....dont bitch about the small things.....live making big things....

posting pictures in a min, but the back looks repairable, the front is fully bent in but i dont know what they can do these days, they might be able to pull it back but i doubt it. Just went and looked at suspension and shit and it looks ok.

when i was just taking pictures i just found a slight pin strip of white down the door that is so faint that i reckon it can be buffered out really easy. and the rearvision mirror was folded in. with a whis paint mark on that aswell.. and the calais was white so i must have got so close to is that i just actually hit it i'll post the pics of it in about 20 mins....

well i think i know the guy and he has no money or insurance so i cant be fked with it.... plus the more i get involved the more stress and the more worry and i dont want that... i just want to get away from it and get it back on the road....

at the first stages its looks like the only damage is 2 enkei rims.... and the front bar which was already hammered....(the door will buff out of positive) :)

good news is that all the people involved should be ok, although the old guy had to get cut out with the jaws of life... :)

ummmm....if someone can recognise what the name of my enkei's are when i get the photos up i will be very appreciative as i would like to get a hold of one as i love them....

Fane, that sucks, glad you're ok, those rims are multiple piece mabe you can order the outer rims only, that would have to be cheaper than entire wheels. your paint looks like it will come up nice with a cut & polish. Good luck with the repairs. :cuss:

I think the rim could be fixed fane,as the outer is just steel.

Try someone like Summerfield engineering in Kenwick as he makes steel rims and stuff.

Your stunt driving skills have been tested and you passed.Good work.

Fane nice to hear of your lucky escape

have you told the police how you avaided the accident if so new front bar claim on thier insurances looks good and they should pay for the rim repair its worth finding out

my insurance will sky rocket if i claim it so im fked if i do.... its not the excess of 400bucks but the $2600 a year instead of $996, might try and absorb it...

yer dean i went back down there about 5 mintus after with the old man and made a statement and everything and they seem quite cool about it...

DR30, i was hoping that would be the case... i actually think that they might be able to pull them back aswell... lets hope.... i'll go up this weekend and drop them around the place and see what they can do...

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
