S14 With Neo Rb25 Drift Car.

Recommended Posts

yeah i'll get onto the name change lol. you injectors should be fine but doubt the pump will keep up with the flow. if you cant be bothered going twin pump look into a much larger single pump.

on another note.

got my head off atm to hopefully fix cooling issues.. anyway heres some pics of the 25 which is stock bottom end pushing 360+ rwkw... everything looks mint!

there is a good shot from winton at full lock with the wheels hanging out. i like it very much.

i also noticed a rusted shell silvia in one of the pics. what a gay thing to be cool.

i got another bottom end that im going to start building up on the side... so if something happens i'll chuck that in.

as for the cooling issues.. well first i need to find the prob. head came back with zero faults. could still have been gasket issue. i'll take the water pump out next and then go from there.

thinking i might ditch the alloy rad to and just run a GTR oem radiator

started at winton.. would just push water out the rad and boil then get hotter and hotter. have changed thermostat, clutch fan, and radiator cap.. didnt solve it. pressure tested, leak down tested and comp tested ebverything and didnt show any faults. someone suggested a possible head or gasket issues so i thought f**k it i'll pull it off and do MLS and ARP studs anyway. so thats what ive done so far

heres a left field thought.

what about the bonnet? the new venting setup? i did a quick search back throught your pics and the issue has only accured since changing bonnets? and everything tests ok?

just a thought as whist vents are good they can cause other issues. just throwing that out there.

well its time for an update!

Got ARP head studs and a MLS gasket thro Garage 7, Head work was done by Rhemac.. all came up good :D

and back together and running again :D

And then the car went to All Type Crash for some major repairs after Winton Matsuri... the colision with the falcon left the sil panel and door frame pretty bent. The guys down at all type managed to pull it out and bring it straight again and along with a new door you'd never guess anything happened!

3 drift cars.... awaiting repairs!

before

and all fixed... check out my older pics to see the damage.. i never took any pics when the door and panels were off but it was fair major. looked a lot worse then. its a major feat to see that they managed to pull it out this well.

hey mate, if you end up rebuilding a bottom end fit for the NEO, let me know who you get the pistons through, ive been searching for a while and cant find anyone who has NEO pistons, i can only get custom ones made if i send them in my old ones, but i cant afford not having my car for weeks on end

I have a set of Neo pistons ready to go ....

My linkhttp://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/337011-rb25det-neo-cp-pistons-865mm/page__p__5449423

I noticed you that you compression tested your engine and it was reading low (90psi) but still pushing decent power or didn't feel like it had lost any power? Can you or have you comp tested it again? Would be keen to know what reading you are getting now.

cheers for that.

yeah might comp test it again... its not down on power thats for sure.. think its due to the large cams i have. got another dyno on wed to check up on things and then a big two dav event this weekend.

Dec's from Garage 7 did a check up tune last night on the dyno since i had pulled the head off and motor apart.. was worth while just making sure all was ok before it gets some more thrashing this weekend.

so as it was.. with the motor thats seen a crazy amount of thrash time and has been reliable as hell.. and overheated a few times recently. it still makes crazy power. in fact its up 10 rwkw since last time lol. Dec's pulled 2 degrees of timing out and dropped the boost half a psi and all was sweet. I would run 20 psi but the AFM maxxes out right about then ;)

heres a dyno chart. with no temp correction it makes 405 rwkw and with temp probe and actual power output its 367 rwkw. but the best part about it is the fact that at 4000 rpm it makes 180 rwkw. more then most street cars lol

thats some impressive power, the bottom end is still stock right????

KW figure is very impressive, but i was expecting a heap more torque, thought you would hit the 750-800nm of torque.

however, what clutch are you running??? also have you modded/rebuilt the gearbox in any way???

    • Gday gents, been having a issue for a little while now and have come for some advice. car is a r34 gt-four (awd na sedan), when taking tight corners such as car parks and roundabouts feels as if the diff is locked on both ends, have literally snapped 3 shafts and issues doing my head in. Car has 60k klm so mechanical failure in the diff is unlikely but possible, been to 2 very reputable shops near where I live and both have had no luck. What would be my process of trying to find the cause? not too interested in pulling apart transfer cases just to find nothing, have these cars come out with electronic BS that might cause this? not too mechanically inclined so any information will probably be passed on an expert thanks in advance
    • I realise that perhaps no one will in Japan will see this, but why not try anyway. What are you driving in Japan? I have a (sniff (;_;) ) 2018 Toyota Corolla Sports 1.2L Turbo 6MT. It has a class trailing 116PS and 190Nm power/torque... 😐 Why? Because back in 2018 there was only 1(?) manual transmission car available from Toyota which was the 86 (not including the Mark X GRMN 2015/2019), so when they released this one I had to support them by getting one in the hope that they would continue to release more manual models. As it turns out they released the Supra, Yaris, and GR Corolla all with manual transmissons after that. Mods are RSR Ti2000 Down springs, HKS panel filter, 18x8.5" Weds Sports SA-20R Face F with 215/40R18 Toyota Proxes Sport tyres. Eventually a full exhaust, boost controller sub-con, Blitz turbocharger and aero parts will be added before it gets replaced...
    • It looks proper factory fitted. It's exactly how I would do it. Well done 👍
