At $92k-110k if your just after parts, why would't you just buy a GTR in Japan with the great exchange rate, cut it in half like the (Donut king team?) did earlier this year and send it over to Australia?

Or is there alot of taxes you have to pay on parts as well? duties etc.

Happy with my new one....I would not bother with importing of any sort...but at 20k here damaged ...I would buy a shed full of them

but I reckon I would have to kill the hundreds in front of me with their 20k....

20k here damaged? are you saying you bought a damaged one for $20k for parts, this white one or another?

oh wow so some bloke (let's assume) has bought this car for 92K to part it out and wreck it

who in the fuck

is going to pay

35 grand

for a freaking engine.

i ask you.

who.

WHO.

Well apparently someone bought an undrivable car with a spare 92k.....so you never know. But 92k is a bit much for a car not many people own, and parting out is probably a bit early since most people who have taken out a home loan or have deep pockets to pay for a car like this wouldn't drive it in a manner to have to need to replace parts. I'll put my hand up for a genuine r35 gtr badge, but then again mum gets paid next week.

I wish.....No just my reply to earlier post in this thread......

"It will be de-valued and scared for life, being listed as a repairable writeoff. Once repaired it stays on the register for life!

What value does someone put on this. . . 10-20K??"

Not me......I would opt to reco my own......but hey if you require a spare unit for what ever reasons......

A crate motor is $75k so why not? Not to mention trying to actually buy one, i doubt Nissan would sell us one anyway.

it's a high hit - it's repairable - it's a supercar - if you repaired it you'd save 10 thousand dollars off the cost of a GTR alone

...whoop de freaking do.

i'm just saying, if you can afford to pay 92K for a wrecked car. THEN pay for the FREAKING HEADACHE. associated with repairing it - and paying like, waht, 80K for the repairs? (let's SAY it costs this much for arguements' sake.)

if you can afford 172K for a frankenstein car that's been crashrepaired... then you can afford to just go to the nissan shop and just buy a new car - it's financed, no upfront payment, and you have a new car that way

you don't have to be the guy that hangs out with the other GTR community and be like "yeah i bought a wreck and repaired it"

"oh wow aren't you cultured"

i'm just saying

actually

you know what

everyone's entitled to their opinions, we're all obviously just disagreeing

so let's agree on one common thing...

..you're all wrong except for me.

Not to mention the fact you've got a supercar with probably the most electronic gear in it out of almost any super car. And a high end smash on the back might just delodge a few things throughout the car. Can't be cheap to repair, I remember someone on here mentioning front bumpers were $2500 and front lips were $1500 along.

If its whoever hit the gtr's fault than it would be their insurance paying, that is if they had insurance.

Not really!

If he cut in front of the truck whilst pulling up to lights/ stop sign / give way sign etc it will be the GTR's fault

Law states you must leave room for trucks to pull up.

I know this coz i was cut off a couple months ago in my work truk and insurance and cops deemed it was op fault for not giving room to stop

You can pick a rear back cover, choice of colour even for $150 on Yahoo

Does not look like it sold

Relisted for 28/10/09

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
