woot found a buyer for the car!

Is there any other information about the car i need to know of apart from what is listed in the ad?

Me: What other information would you like to know?

Nothing much just want to make sure all bases are covered

I will purchase at the listed price and payment will be sent using PayPal and i will be needing your email with PayPal for payment or you could send me an invoice(ill handle the PayPal surcharge, you just let me know).Make sure you get back to me so that we can arrange for pick up as i will like the item to be picked as i am out of town at the moment.

I await your reply.

Thanks

Anyone got any idea of how to grab the money and run before the guy and/or paypal could chase it up? :D

my reply: I dont have a paypal account, never liked those things, are you able to send the cash through the mail instead? Express post should get the money to me by end of the week and we could arrange to get the car to you on the weekend/early next week.

Of course. Why did no-one else think of doing that.

With PayPal it takes a few days for funds to clear once they have made the deposit and then a few more days for you to transfer the funds into your own personal account. Best case scenario it would be 7 days between when the buyer puts money into PayPal and you have it in your own personal bank account. People being scammed by this are just lazy & or dumb.

You make it sound so simple. I'm sure theres some clause in the PayPal T&C that has allowed these scammers to get away...

What I reckon is this: they ask if theres anything they should know about the car, the seller misses something out, they buy the car pay with paypal, it clears, seller gets money sends off car, they receive the car and file paypal dispute over some bullshit thing that seller didnt state and 99% of the time paypal sides with the buyer and the money gets transferred into their paypal account and the seller's paypal account is suddenly minus whatever amount and they dont return the car, strips it down or whatever and paypal chases up with the seller to recoupe the money.

-D

do it dave

i gotta start making serious wheel selection soon too

- do i go all out, overfenders and custom made ROH Venturos (17*9 -20 and 17*10 -20 with shadow chrome centre and about 15cm of dish)

http://www.rohwheels.com.au/modularseriesventuro.php

- do i go a bit cheaper and a bit more period look, Rota RB (17*9 -13 and 17*9.5 -19)

Yeah bank transfer or cash is good when the buyer isnt intending to rip me off :P

tell them 'no keys till the cash clears'.... most people understand the buy/sell relationship as one that is only concluded once the funds are in the posession of the seller ;P

pretty straight forward that :P

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
