*grumbles about people who have today as their last working day*

I'm working right up till xmas (24th), and then back again on 29th .. no rest for the wicked!

For the first time in four years, I'm at least not on-call for work over the xmas break (nothing better than having your xmas interrupted at 3am in the morning because a server has crashed..)

hahaha join the club....at least i have the week between xmas and new years off.....thats the only positive out of this and back to work again on the 4th....but on my week off i am on call as well.....arrgh

Today is only the last Friday for me, I'm still working on Monday and tuesday next week then don't go back until hopefully the 11th Jan but possibly earlier depending on what happens in the next few days.

Officially, I'm off 23rd Dec to 4th January ... can have up to 11th Jan off if things are slow ...

Yeah right!!! Got MYOB software to link with new billing software system; server upgrade and install of SBS 2008 on all office desktops; archiving of client records ... I don't think I'll be having holidays much!

In between the time I do have free ... I have to finish the Stagea manual swap, house plans to re-lodge with Council, house extension work.

:)

yeah we are in the same boat ruby.....got many of server upgrades happening....as most users are away so it helps us with low to no traffic and if something goes wrong then we have time to correct it all.....

im working through these next few weeks - hardly anyone here in my office!

Cricket on the big screen in the training room, hardly any management staff on, pubs within reach; overall low work morale! But i do have plenty of things that need doing :D

i've booked from the 6th jan - 4th feb - exactly 4 weeks off. can't bloody wait!

I'd really love to take until the 11th off ... but I know there are going to be issues with the new server install and other IT stuff ... even if I take the time off, my phone will just summon me in anyway when the shit hits the fan ... which it will. Might as well save my leave for when I really need it.

Parts from nissan have been ordered. Now to play the waiting game.

Also Unley Nissan are letting me bring my car in and they are gonna hook up the consult and go over the car for free :D

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
