merry christmas all. after the last couple of days, it doesnt feel like it. feeling for the 10 odd families who lost everything in the fire on wednesday at pt lincoln. flew out wed nite, and returned last nite to help the guys from the ETSA depot over there get power back on. some seriously lucky people, and some seriously unlucky people too

Merry Xmas all.

I'm looking at buying tomei sump baffles and a oil restrictor for the 26. Anyone here knows how to fit them? Does the head need to come off to fit the restrictor?

If I could watch someone fit them or someone over looks me and tells me how to do it, that would be awesome.

Cheers.

How much are you able to get the sump baffles for, and have you got the tomei head baffles already? I'd be doing the head baffles first esp if the head has to come off to fit the restrictor...

dont actually have to remove the head to do the head baffels, just the covers... and its mines that does the head baffels (haven't seen tomei ones)

I'll have a look at prices when I get home from crissy lunch and dinner. Thing is, instead of me just giving someone the motor and saying fit these I would like to be shown/ taught how to fit them.

iirc the restrictor goes into the top oil feed (only 1) and its hammered in just like a welch plug

the sump baffle gets welded in

the head baffle screws into the cam covers

Have you looked at the hi octane sumps? They look like a serious bit of kit and will be what I go for when I build my motor. Some nice internal gating/baffling too

I need some help. I think I've got an inlet leak.

If I rev the engine up and release the throttle , it stalls. But if I take it easy it's fine :D

I'm thinking it's the inlet manifold gasket ?

Any ideas on how to be sure ?

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
