ok anything else seriously i really want this job

Brush up on what the job description entails. Know the job like you've worked there for years ... they'll pick up on the confidence. Got the job description? Know anyone else in the job who you can talk to?

Be able to give examples of previous experiences (working, studies or not) to demonstrate skills in key areas. Demonstrate a willingness to learn in the areas you know are your weakest. Be able to identify (in relation to the job) your SWOTs (strength, weaknesses, opportunities, threats).

These are the things I look for. I could go on, but keep it simple: know the job, prepare for questions, relax.

dont be afraid to stop and think about your answers, the flavour of the moment with interview techniques seems to be, give me an example of what you did in ... situation, or tell me about a time that you had to....

also most importantly use the interviewers name when you address them and say goodbye

GOOD LUCK!!

Ruby, WTF is with the email option to send membership forms??

"The illegal hooning and street racing that occurs is not motorsport....if you can provide a safe and organised venue where these people can go, you won't eliminate the problem but you have a safe and legal place for it, " says Australian National Drag Racing Association project director, Gary Miocevich. <<<Click image or txt

Does anyone know what the best method for sending files online around the 20MB mark is? Some people want me to email them photos of thier car from the track day, but even zipped they are too big for email...

As Ruby mentioned already, do not swear at all. As soon as someone swears to me I'll make a mental note to remove them from the short list, unless everyone else were complete and totals retards.

Just try and be confident even if you might not be feeling it and it's always a good idea to sell yourself in regards to your past experience, just don't over do it because I can always tell who's talking shit to me when it's so obvious they haven't got a clue what I'm talking about or the question I asked.

also does anyone know how to get hold of a cams license now that i have had a single day event and if i get my cams license now they will take the $25 off......how long do i have as well......

but how do we go about in getting the license as it was a L2S wasnt it?

Krishy, yes its was an L2S licence you need to apply for. You can find the information here: http://www.cams.com.au/Development/Get%20I...ce%20Types.aspx

I'm currently chatting with a bloke named Howard from CAMS about my Officials Licence, and I'm interested in obtaining my L2S licence also. I'll let you know what he forwards onto me.

:D

qft!

few interview panels i've been part of have had several of the over-confident shit talking type. These people never get looked at.

If we have a full group of complete idiots make it to an interview process and none of them tell us what we want to hear, we'll re-advertise!

Depending on what position we're trying to fill, we'll do the same and even for shop floor inspectors who I can generally determine immediately whether they're going to be an assett or liability to us. My tolerance level for dipshits/halfwits/lazyc__nts is pretty much non existant these days!

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
