Thank f**k someone else takes my side on this argument. If it weren't for Apple fanatical (read: retarded mindless sheep) consumers and its admittedly clever and well used marketing hype; it wouldn't have gotten such a cult following. I know I've just opened a whole can of worms and expect replies contrary to this but oh wells.

Agreed Luke, brother inlaw as one and i rekon they're the most over rated things ever...Had an N95 nokia quite liked it now i've got a prepaid nokia that does everything the n95 did...But about to upgrade to a samsung thingo

Has anyone actually used Racechrono (For Symbian S60 mobiles) at Mallala yet. I ment to put it in someones car at the SAU:SA track day so i could test it against the proper timers, but i forgat and i only just learnt how to use it anyway.

They bitch and moan if someone takes the piss outta them, yet they have their "I'm a PC" ads, constantly take the piss outta MS (which shows me they are insecure) and MS just cops it on their chin. Sure MS isn't some squeaky clean company but atleast they can have a laugh at themselves

The thing stems from the whole 'cult of apple' where they used to use their allegiance to apple as a badge of honor against the 'totalitarianism of microsoft', which tbh was a good movement at the time. thing is, the ms cats have been spending quite a lot of money to improve their perception and have done so by modifying their products. Vista and 2008 office was a total f**kup, and they fixed a load of those issues with win 7 - I hated vista, but I LOVE win7, and I've never been an MS fanboy

MS have spent money to become more consumer friendly after all the antitrust stuff - they probably deserved to have been punished more than what they got, but thems the compromises - a government can no more cripple a software manufacturer it relies upon lest it cripple itself... thank the gods that apple hasnt been implemented as a govt standard.

I for one are happy with SELinux on RHEL and Fedora - much better to have live hdd encryption natively than having to pay big bucks to do the same thing from a proprietary company

Performance testing

With the Performance Testing feature, you can test your vehicle’s acceleration. You can select from various different tests, for example 0-100 km/h acceleration test and a quarter mile test. Remember not to try these tests on the public roads!

hahahahah nice disclaimer

Ive got the same thing on my iPhone, seems to actually have a hint of accuracy behind it. Ive also got one that tells you how good your brakes are (stopping distance, gforce etc) The power calculations seem to be around the ballpark too - within about 20rwkw of what the car actually pulled on a dyno.

Got off defect on South Road tonight.

McLovin it.

I have my standard exhaust on now, coilovers out so its very 4x4 spec atm & need a pair of new tires, regency wednesday 19th.

Can anyone help out with a pair of proxes4's?

Pfffft iPhone haters.

It set the benchmark for what phones should be like.

OS 4.0 has multitasking, etc. and that's released in June/July this year.

The funny thing is, the phone just works. None of this Nokia bullshit where it restarts once a week. I had a n95 for 2 years and couldn't wait to see the end of it. The n97 or whatever their touch phone attempt is, is pathetic. Laggy as all f**k. iPhone never lags or freezes or randomly reboots. It just works.

Boo hoo about no Flash on your phone. I haven't encountered a single website that I needed flash to look at. What do you all do? Watch .swf movies on your phone?

Windows Mobile is rubbish. I also had a Samsung Omnia running Windows Mobile but it's not designed to be used without a stylus, so it reders it useless.

Blackberry's are a better phone for a corporate environment, though.

i think not, i dont know anyone with an iphone (jailbroken or not) that isnt crashy and/or laggy... admittedly mine is a 3G so its slower with new apps.

+1 for blackberry in a corporate environment... i know of a fair few companies that wont allow iPhones on the network. an iphone is not a business tool... its a toy

too many hoops to jump thru to make an iphone do what i want, and not look like complete ass. so android it the way to go,

Odd - my iPhone (3G) has never been crashy, laggy or had issues. Mine is non-jailbroken (to the amusement of all my IT work collegues). I also only have about 6 apps installed. I typically use it for phone, SMS, email and the occasional eBook. It does all I need it to, and well. Better than any WM-based phone I've ever used (and I've used more than a few).

i have an iphone 3gs 32g thing is jammed packed full of music, movies, apps & games im up too like 27gb worth of crap on there and still runs like brand new! never had a problem with it...only tim it did was when i tryed to jailbreak it & it shit itself, but it does say do that at your own risk and you will encounter problems...

probably the biggest frustration i have with the iphone is there is a known problem with the chipset on my pc and connection of apple devices via usb.... has been known for ages and it prolly wont get fixed... oh well, im off to greener pastures

I've got a non jailbroken 3G with only about 1GB free, got heaps of apps etc and it simply doesn't crash. To this date I haven't found a website which won't load on it (Im posting on it right now infact). I can even log in to my outlook account remotely with a FULL Microsoft interface. Also people say they are fragile, I've run out of fingers to count how many times it's been dropped/squashed etc and it's fine. I broke the screen on brand new high end nokia in 2 weeks.

I managed to get iPhone working with our Exchange 2003 server a few weeks back. Literally took me about 2 weeks to get working. Such a head f**k!!! So many configuration settings on the server end that have to be performed.

But once it works, it works quite well.

In saying that, I implimented a Blackberry server for e-mail purposes in my last position and that worked so much easier/better than the iPhone.

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
