My cousin is in a similar situation, already a registered nurse however shes been doing the Midwife upgrade course which entails having to do (x) amount of deliveries and they dont get paid for it. She only has 2 more to go thankfully, cause like you guys, her family could really deal with the extra cash (or paid work instead of unpaid work in other words)

Pretty rough really, hardly a surprise we don't have more nurses. What dept does Tracy work in at WCH ? Thats where my cousin is based...

-D

Yeah the last 6 weeks have been BS as far as finances are concerned. How the fark does TAFE expect people to work for free for 6 weeks?

Tracy works in the Rodgerson Theatres (Emergency Dept).

;)

^^^ BAH - try your missus having a baby and having a total of 1.5 YEARS off - plus copping around $5k worth of expenses in tests, ultrasounds, delivery, hospital stay on top etc etc. AND try and service my mortgage on one wage ....

Well thats what I was saving my Long Service Leave up for. So I could take time off work (paid) and use a combination of time off and LSL paid out, to finance having a baby. Unfortunately, thats not happening for us. Tried IVF and it just so expensive. With the wedding coming up and Tracy not being paid for working those 6 weeks ... I've given up on the baby thing now. I'll be using my LSL now to go to the IOMTT next year. 17 weeks worth of paid time off ... woohoo!

Got a Staff Review meeting with the bosses this week. Will be asking for a bigger bonus and/or part payout on the LSL so we can get back on our feet quicker.

Hey, thanks for your moral support at the 'wrecking yard' the other day too Jenna ;)

Heh - I wasn't much good for anything but standing around and offering a tool here or asking questions there... It was still an interesting day to watch you guys working on stuff. If I learn something from it, I'm happy.

I love working on cars (like a lot of IT people, I've found), and I read a lot on doing things - but I have little confidence in my knowledge, so I try and get somebody experienced to guide me when I'm unsure. I also prefer to tackle things I'm familiar with - general servicing isn't an issue (fuel filter, oil filter, oil change, etc - did a complete service on my N14 SSS recently which involved a changing of the timing chain tensioner - but, I got in help on that one :)). Either way, a snapped accelerator pedal was not something I felt comfortable with - one of those things that if you attempt to fix, and can't - you can't drive the car anywhere to get it fixed. Thankfully it was RubyRS4 to the rescue :bunny:

Ruby - did you have any luck recovering your extension lead today?

Anyway, it was good to actually meet some people from the forums and put faces to names ... Hell, I am an SAU:SA member ... Maybe I should drop down to villis on a Friday ...

Thats where I ended up Friday night aswell lol

lol! its quite the shithole hey

i was meant to go there but i ended up playing poker and winning :)

ahh good to hear!

not like that other bet you made at the bar earlier with Jack though - he's a freak! I lost it after watching him skoll that big pint of guiness in 2 seconds...

I've ended my night at Strats way too much.

I was there at 6:30am the other week... it's so awkward when you walk in and you find half your mates in there, too haha!

My mate got kicked out after touching one of the strippers. The best part? My mate is a girl! She's a crazy one.

But Strats is feral. I was playing pool against 2 strippers there the other week - one had braces on still and looked about 14.

There was one girl dancing on the boardroom table next to us, on the outide she did look pretty cute but she was probably more thrashed out than a P platers R31.

    • My thinking is that if the O2 sensor is shot then your entire above described experience is pure placebo.
    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
    • -10 is plenty for running to an oil cooler. When you look at oil feeds, like power steering feeds, they're much smaller, and then just a larger hose size to move volume in less pressure. No need for -12. Even on the race cars, like Duncans, and endurance cars, most of them are all running -10 and everything works perfectly fine, temps are under control, and there's no restrictions.
    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
