Go to Motor Traders, and start from there.

Ryco Filters, Z145a i think is the part number for your oil filter.

Do the Fuel Filter also. Gates Timing belts, maybe replace your thermostat while you are at it.

Gerbox and diff oil, yeah, i guess people have their own preferences.

Just go over everything, feel the swaybar and links, check for cracks in bushes..simple things like that.

and water pump! since the front of the engines going to be off anyways..

Also been speaking with CAMS today. Got them to send me all the info i need on making my car a Race/Rally car so i can drive it on the street hehe. Straight from the document

A dedicated rally car can only be used on public roads under the following circumstances:

To participate in an official CAMS event.

 To drive the vehicle to and from all aspects of that event.

 To drive the vehicle to and from official promotional events, including media days and displays.

 To drive to and from maintenance/repair establishments. This may include testing and evaluation.

 Any other activities at the request of the SA CAMS office.

Yes im doing some testing to and from Villis on a Friday night haha

Rant,

Coming home from a mates place tonight. Coming onto north east rd from Kelly street. Look left look right twice and go. According to the policeman this wasnt enough and i didnt come to a complete stop at the stop sign. $332 fine and 3 points :whistling:

Unfortunately the vehicle must come to a COMPLETE stop. That means stopping before the line, applying the handbrake for a second (or 2, just to be sure), then treating the intersection as a "give way". Done too many driving tests (military especially) where thats an instant fail.

Anyone know how to find how many demerit points I got let? Or when they dissapear after a few years?

Cheers

They disappear after 3 years of the date of offence

If you've got 6 accrued (half) you'll get a "you're well on your way to losing your licence" letter that will show up what you've gained LOL

Correct, when I was learning to drive, my Instructor said to stop at the line, and wait at least 5 seconds before moving off, of course making sure no traffic is coming the other way.

Do fixed speed/red light camera know which car on which lane the vehicle was speeding?

Today, I was sitting at about 50km/h in a 50 zone driving through an intersection that I knew had a fixed camera then mid-intersection BAM flash in the left side mirror and corner of my eye to the right a car appeared out of nowhere and braked hard... so at the time the car would of been side by side next to me or slightly behind - hope my truck didnt get in the way of the moron's numberplate or the fine getting sent to me instead...

yes they do, theres 2 extra pads in each lane. Even if you did obscure, they wont ping u

how hard could something be to find

i want an intercooler core. 450 x 300 x 75 (would prefer thinner but cant be choosy)

got one with outlets at either end, kinda want them at the same end for simplicity (like this)

cpdocooler45030076.jpg

however these ones have 3" outlets. bit too big for my application (2" max)

who else sells coolers with odd outlets like that, and reasonably cheap?

you can get a kit from Kudos Motorsport Dion, but i guess you dont wanna wait for it seeing as your doing it all tomorrow.

Thanks, I did see those but Ive been told not to use the genuine nissan waterpumps, because they are generic to the 20/25/neo and therefore have an elongated hole that leaks...

go to nissan for timing belts

Been told this too, apparantly gates ones are noisy??

Yeppo :)

Cheers guys :)

does anyone know where the heck i can get some of these style clamps from today?

constant-tension-clamps_lrg.jpg

they are called "constant tension" , "preformed" or spring band clamps"

from my understanding, they are a factory-only style clamp, and are rarely sold aftermarket.

Tridon make them, as do a few other smaller brands.

need some 23 and 25mm ones TODAY, and have already tried the following:

sprints

repco

supercheap

universal fastners

motor traders

pirtek

enzed

CBC

any other suggestions?

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
