What is a really good spray on wipe off product for a cars exterior? To give it a good temp shine. Heard of it but can't recall what it was.

Meguairs Quik Detailer for quick clean outside

I got a cleaning product from meguiars for every part of your car Ruby  ill have it all with me later.

I thought I might try having a go fitting up the Blitz LM FMIC I bought ages ago.

Unfortunately, I can't get it to fit without cutting the reo - which is something I really didn't wanna do (specifically bought the Blitz cos I was assured I wouldn't need to cut reo).

... pondering taking a pass on it and selling it on now ... *sigh*

I've spent most of this week off sick, and got frustrated driving my other car all the time... Thought I'd rip the reo off and size up how bad the situation was.

So, removed reo, mounted the FMIC up, making sure it was high enough that the the bottom return pipe fits under the undertrays. So, assessing the reo, there's no way it can even fit no matter what I do - it hits on one of the top mounts. Sits perfect on the passenger-side, but drivers-side - not a chance - even if I moved the FMIC across as far right as I could. I'm bloody confused and exhausted

No way that it's gonna fit under that mount:

Fits perfect here:

I'm just about ready to give up - anyone have any ideas..? :/

Gotta love bogan chicks in jap cars!

Heading up Greenhill Road in the middle lane (west bound) a car in the left lane is turning down a side street to Wayville, and the chick in the Liberty behind it swerves into my lane, forcing me to brake and swerve into the right hand lane. I'm on my horn and my brakes, then after she moves back into the left lane and I move back into the middle lane, she's giving me the finger and mouthing "f**k off" to me???

Cars all stop at ETSA corner, so I hop out to have a word with the bitch, and she runs the red light almost hitting traffic coming out of the city!!!

Hag

IIRC that kit comes with the middle top bracket for both R33 and R34, are you sure you've used the correct top bracket? Have you got a pic of the top bracket mounting to the bottom of the hood striker?

I didn't get any brackets - ahh the joys of s/h kits. This is why I've had to try and guess about positioning and make up my own brackets  .. I think maybe it might fit if I mount it about an inch or more lower, but then I'd be worried about whether the lower piping is gonna fit. It seems like a very precise/tight fit to me.

This is turning into way more trouble than it's worth.

that jack is only 1300kg very cheap though proly cost you $100 to ship

normal cost is near 200USD, and being alloy it's lighter. even my supercheap special lifts the R34 rear end or front end with ease. so this one would be even easier since its a race jack it lifts with a few pumps.

sure these cost a pretty penny in oz in alloy ?

I shipped two huge sub woofers from usa for like 60 bucks insured. they weighed a shite load too

is it a return flow kit?

Im with Steve, different kits with the top centre mounting bracket mount in different holes - there should be two holes available from memory - def try the lower one. if youre making the bracket yourself it'd have to be a precise length ,as of course if it's too much over/under size, the FMIC piping won't line up with the standard piping properly

Yes, it's a return-flow kit.

I don't have much choice but to make my own brackets - it's turning out to be lots of trial and error - I think I might have it - i'm persevering!

I just hoped things would go a lot smoother than this!

So, had to remove the rear leaf springs from an Isuzu Tipper today.

The guy thought it would be ok to leave his 6 tonnes of wet sand in the back.

What should have taken an hour or two including setup for stands, unbolting, removing wheels etc, turned into an 6 hour job.

God i hate people sometimes.

He called us up 10 minutes after he dropped it off. Hoping that it wouldn't matter.

He was flying out to Syndey then onto a 10 night cruise ship thing.

Old bastard he is. Too slack to buy a new indicator stalk, he uses a condom on it to make it work, also his stash of porn in the cabin is something to be scared of.

    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
    • Shimmed or shimless, still solid, no hydraulic pump up stuff.
    • They have said food will be limited. Mainly meat pies and sausage rolls from memory. But they have a coffee van!
