Spotted white r33 "RR 33 SM" cruising on george st 9.30 pm. On pitt st spotted a parked r32 gtr gun metal grey plate "AUP 96B" with a very nice set of deep dish. Also a black r33 with cf wing passing pitt st with an exhause kept popping like. . . well..... pop corns :D

just spotted a red 33 turning from beecroft rd to penno rd... had a quick chat :waveys:

Yea, that was me moanie. Long time reader, first time poster. It wasn't actually my car. The dealer gave it to me to drive until mine is complianced.

Getting a silver 33 s2 :D

hopefully on saturday. All the compliance work's been done and it's just waiting for a plate which is due tomorrow morning. Been waiting a month and a half .

But at least the guys gave me the red one to play with till then. Gotta watch the wheels on it though. They're off a 34 that's getting complianced. big 19 inch bastards that they are.

Yea, i saw a girl drivin a 'line and remembered reading ur rego a while ago and figured, meh... why not .... "U moanie?":)

yay for saturday!!! and at least you have the red one to play with in the meantime!! and it didn't look like you were taking it easy!!! lol!!! and those rims looked nice!! didn't look like 19s though!!!! maybe its cause the 33 isn't lowered?! good guess

yea... it looks silly with 19's on stock susp  . You weren't doing too bad behind me either.

I just gave it a squirt around the corner to get to the left lane, as is the norm from beecroft to penno, and noticed u "keeping up".

All a bit o' fun

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
    • I couldn't agree more. I should have started from the get-go with a NEO or solid bucket conversion. I started looking into converting over to solid lifters yesterday.
