what you mean 'jumping'?

airpod shouldnt cause any issues like that, its just an exposed filter.

Only thing i can think of is if its misfiring past 5000rpm but that would be related to worn out coilpacks and not related to airpod

on the r33 putting a pod on there shouldnt cause any problems at all. sounds like something else is wrong somewhere like ur plugs or coilpacks.

as for your r34 im curious is it fluttering cos u also have a front mount? if so thats cool but i hope u havent followed that trend of blocking off the standard blow off valve or whatever people do to make it flutter. i know 3 idiots i warned about that who did it anyway and all 3 blew their turbos

well what my mate did on his stock 33 is this:

1/ put a pod on

2/did a burn out

3/car started 'jumping' going from low to high revs vice versa

4/he put the stock air filer back on

5/car went back to normal

so made me think it was the poddy aswell lol

as for my 34 i dont have a fmic, all i have is a full atmospheric bov and a custom turbo back exhaust which i got just yesterday!!

but only flutters on low revs...so i think its ok? ;)

flutter on stock turbo is never ok

as for your mates R33 and his fully sick uleh pd doing his fully sick skidzzzzz

did you check if the AFM plug was plugged in and not just loosely plugged??? could also be vaccum leak? but if by putting a stock filter fixed it then ye i dunno. maybe it was the car telling he hates you lol

hmmm the blow of valve usually doesnt flutter it should make a whoosh noise unless its one of those VL turbo types. but yeh ur mates car however was it low on fuel? doin that burnout could have sucked in some gunk from the bottom of his fuel tank and thats what the car was running on. otherwise like ash said check the air flow meter is plugged in properly. other than that usually if u treat ur car like shit then it behaves like shit

It's the cars way of telling your mate he is an idiot.

But most likely the AFM was bumped/moved and not happy by the sound of that.

Oh - and good luck with your ATMO BOV - your car will probably start stalling and overfuelling. ;)

I hope this was done on a race track. ;)

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
