Thanks for that Steve. Pity there isn't one closer though, was really hoping for an open day on the 19th/20th.

Harry: I think both days are competition mate. I was hoping to get a good day in prior.

Some bling bits just arrived for The SLot Car.

We discovered this billet alloy dry sump set up made in USA for our VQ30 twin turbo motor we are fitting. It is a girdle, sump, oil air separator, dry sump pump and oil filter bracket all in one. THe motor will be more reliable, help piston rings seal better, less drag for crank, both indirectly making more free power. so more power, less weight in front, as oil tank will go in left rear of the car. Also allows us to move the engine further back and lower, lowering the weight in the car, allows us to raise the steering rack to get rid of bump steer, rather than spacing the outer steering pivot point down. It also allows us to run a better front air dam in under tray, as has more clearance.

The new motor should have us well under 1150kg and much better balance front to rear and left to right as mounting the oil tank left rear allowing us to remove 10kg of lead.

Cosworth Plenum on way.

6Boost making exhaust manifolds and GCG supplying turbo's.

wow sub 1150kg sure is light! :P

When we do carbon fibre tailgate with Perspex window and carbon front bar, it will be well under 1100kg. Then have plans for building a 3.8 litre VQ with VQ35 crank and Darton Sleave kit, which we have, and will be easy 500plus rwkw, maybe for next year. Also have plans for custom Chrome Molly front suspension, getting rid of the heavy king pin and upright, this should save many kilos off the front suspension, through in traction control and looking at Ikea Sequential shift kit with ignition kill and we might only be a mile away from the big guns rather than miles.

Thanks for that Steve. Pity there isn't one closer though, was really hoping for an open day on the 19th/20th.

There is a ARDC supersprint the weekend before on the 16th is a round of the CAMS Supersprint Championship, would be hard to enter unless you are registered in the Supersprint championship as you get first preference, but worth a shot. I will be running the Mazda R100. When i get entry forms will let people know and then you could contact the ARDC.

Thanks for that mate, would really appreciate it.

John: Z sounds like it's coming along nicely, should be even more of a weapon soon.

So I hear on the grapevine that the Scion is coming from the States!

It's apparently now up to 1200hp and has undergone a 4WD conversion with a custom billet alloy cased gearbox! I also hear he's flying the thing over! haha

I think the entry list is nearing 10 internationals, which would be awesome!

I was giving some private tuition to a couple of guys yesterday at the creek who are both running in clubsprint. Far out, there are some fast cars around. R33 GTR in clubsprint spec doing a 45.4 on a hot day is not mucking around. Also good to see Lofty out there with the BSM R32 GTR doing some serious testing. They were pulling 280kph down the chute and were well below the 40 sec bracket :D

Alright whos the one spreading rumours a Viper and Mustang are coming over aswell from the states???

Not happy...got all excited only to bfind out its not true!:cool::D

P.s should get Tacker to come over! :/

    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools.
