Back to topic, to confirm that operation RAID has started, this morning I was driving to work, I saw a divi van with a sticker on the back of it saying R.A.I.D lol.

I tried to get closer to see what it actually means, but I was still too far ;)

And last night, on the intersection of Springvale Rd and Lower Dandenong Rd, they blocked off all 4 directions with a drug bus on each lol, first time I've seen something like that o.O

Oh and they don't just breathe test you, when I got waved into the drug station, they pulled a kid over on his red P's carrying 3 passengers lol.

was ok tonight - went to pick up my date from ringwood, then went to docklands, and finally crown, before heading down princess hwy - no hassles from the cops or anything.....guess when people drive sensibly, there is no need to worry!

I use to agree with you but after being dicked during a blitz on pricess hwy i no longer do, in that sort of situation and that area it is purely pot luck, if they are bored and have nothing else to do then they will pull you over, if they are flat out with other people doing stupid shit you will fly under the radar.

I have no idea where operation RAID was targeted but it certainly wasnt on dandenong rd from berwick to city nor springvale rd or for that matter over west in kings park, footscray or laverton. Didnt see a single member of the popo. Could it have been too wet for them? But if not anything else scare tactics worked a treat didnt see anybody anywhere...LOL

You get around ;)

Just avoid driving your modified Skylines into CBD areas or hotspots such as Dandenong, Springvale/Noble Park, St. Kilda etc....a few of my friends - including myself have gotten defected of late!

Seen a few RAID stickers on cop cars. Also seen the plod on the corner of Gratton and Elizabeth writting tickets for cyclists and pedestrians breaking the law. They had every side of the road covered and were seeing people on one side of the intersection and pulling them over on the other. A few seatbelts and mobile phones :D. Was good to not be on the receiving end but i'm guessing a lot of people had a bad day.

Charles, I've been through spaghetti junction twice where they've blocked off every direction before. Then people turn in to where Hungry Jacks is and there's cops waiting in there too to get the ones trying to avoid them haha.

Last night on Fitzsimmons Lane just near the apple peel, there was a booze bus and they were stopping everyone, not letting cars through.. just letting it back up so everyone had to get tested.

I was following behind a P plater in a VZ ute and Mercedes and as we got to the apple peel roundabout, they saw the flashing lights ahead. The ute pulled in to the bus stop at the Shell and the Mercedes did a u-turn.

I kept watching the mirrors and undercovers came out of the new carwash there and were on them in seconds.

Couldn't stop laughing haha.

There were plenty of cars already parked at the booze bus, shows how many stupid people there are around my area :D

As I was waiting to go after being tested, the car at the front of the queue was being questioned so I asked the cop how long they'd been set up there for since there were so many cars already caught. She told me 8pm so 6 hours already and they were going to be there until 4am.. long night standing there!

Does anyone know how these "new" speed detectors pinpoint which car is actually speeding when the cop is driving too?

If it's being used in a busy area like Knox and there's a bunch of cars driving, how can they be sure which one the radar picked up?

I got pulled over yesterday.. at 11.45am for a breath test, its so early in the morning, who's going to have alcohol in their blood?

And it was just down the road from where i live, now, who are they planning to catch if they're parked at such a secluded spot?

Not to do with breath testing, but thought i'd let you know there is an unmarked white ss patrolling all the 40 zones around oakleigh east, chadstone etc, as i've seen him both friday on my way to work and this morning on my way to work. I think this is good because ppl dont slow down enough for these zones. But as for the weekend and princess hwy as i live on the damn road... nothing! it was fairly quiet.

there is also a white unmarked SS with bullbar and clear lights on the roof.

sits outside the Video Ezy on Princess hwy, across the road from Noble Park McDonalds, friday-saturday nights

looks like a secruity car though, but its a cop

Alcoholics! You might be surprised how many people down drinks in the morning, and these are the same types who wouldn't knock back driving around after having more than a few. Maybe not in your specific location but they are definitely around.

Meh, marked cars would be much better as a preventative measure of speeding in these areas. I don't agree with unmarked cars at all...they tend to support the "cure is better than prevention" ideology.

but i gets the dickheads off the roads, cars impounded, license suspended, wallets damaged.

if they can't see a marked cop, they think its clear, then they act like a dickhead and get done.

where as if they see a marked cop, they'll hold out till the next area. this way gets them off the roads faster cause they get caught in the act

Yeah that's a good point TJ...they do catch out the sly morons. Still...with the number of unmarked cars out there, if they were all marked then perhaps these idiots might not be able to wait for the next street cause there are too many cop cars around. Plus an unmarked car can only really stop one dickhead at a time - when there's a marked cop car around, there's a very noticeable change to the flow of traffic around the car.

    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
