Hi Paul, i just payed for a black silicone intake pipe for my r33 last night and i will be doing a bit of a review on the quality of the product, ease of installation and customer service. The one in the pic shows it has the metal rings on it where the red one does not. I hope the black one does have the metal rings because that is why i ordered it.Cheersaction-smiley-069.gif

Thanks very much for your purchase. The black and blue ones come with the rings. We have a few left in the red without rings and once they are sold out they will be replaced with the ring-type.

I would be very interested in reading your review once done; I've had my eye on the silicon intakes for a while.

What is the reason for the metal rings, is it a strength thing? In my experience silicone pipes hold their shape very well, I would imagine much better than the flexible stock rubber pipe...?

The silicon is much stronger than the stock rubber pipe.

The rings make it even stronger still. The reason they work is they decrease the area of which the suction can flex the pipe inwards.

Also, putting the curves in the pipe, especially on the straight section increases the strength and doesmt affect the airflow as they are spaced out enough and are nice and smooth.

Ive sold heaps of these and everyone has been very happy with them.

Hey Paul, how long does it usually take to get goods? I paid 9 days ago for the intake pipe and it says delivery between 3 & 7 days.

Normally around 3-7 business days. or 5-10 normal days. its definitely on its way to you and should arrive very shortly.

hey mate do you have the gtr inlet kit for and r32 gtr?

the one that replaces all of the stock inlet and outlet pipes to the turbos?

Do you mean this kit - CAPP225 - RACING SUCTION KIT TO SUIT R32 GTR

Or the one beneath it? If its the one beneath it, it does fit but there is modifications involoved as it is better suited to the R33 and R34 GTRs.

what kind of modification is required to fit to a 32 gtr?

what kind of modification is required to fit to a 32 gtr?

Power steering bottle needs to be relocated. Ive sold a few of these to R32 GTR owners and have heard stories of them being a bitch to fit.

In all honesty I wouldnt recommend this unless you are prepared for the extra work and to spend a little bit extra on components you'll need.

Still works out a lot cheaper than the Trust ones but not as good. These kits really are best suited to the R33/R34 GTR.

Hey mate do you still have the CAPP53- ALLOY INTAKE PIPE available?

Cant seem to find it on your website, only the silicone ones.

Cheers

Undfortunately not sorry. They have been discontinued. :(

How well do the forward facing plenums fit up retaining standard plugs etc? I have heard of some cheaper copies requiring machining/further work to fit. Can everything standard be used like vct and pcv valve etc or are there mods needed?

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... HTH
    • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
