i owned one of these new gen. alphard back in jakarta. 6 pilot-config seats perfect for young families, IMO add 10% tint, dished jap rims, personal driver and its gonna be a massive head-turner everytime u stepped out of the car in australia (VVIP).

problem: every freaking things (HU, sensors, wiring, MFD) are in japs language. even when u're opening the rolling door & tailgating / standing near to something, a middle-aged lady will give u an announcement in japs. annoying if ure driving in big cities where ppl walks near to your car.

good things: pretty good launch for a big 4wd baboon (3.5L engine), it beats my e-class merc in terms of comfy. perfect for long-range driving.

best next weapon of choice if u own R34 gtr and ur gf got pregnant for twins or triplets. lol

Saw an Alphard in Chatswood, NSW (Sydney). Black with black plates, with some Junction Produce (or that HK imitation) stuff on it. Still love the Elgrand E51, but the Alphard is pretty cool too.

1MZ-FE with TRD supercharger (US Toyota made), Boost = 10.00psi, Power = 343bhp and torque = 373 Nm at 4400rpm. Not great, but guess it'll feel like a limousine.

how much is the El Grand currently?

we bought an e51 about a year ago for about 800000yen from a dealer. so there probably still around that figure or a little bit less depending on trim level..

there big, i fit my 8foot surboard in the back without it coming into the drivers area at all

The fact that I want one for a family bus has nothing to do with it of course.
Kristian... have you heard of contraception? most people stop making offspring after #3.

yeaaah you're totally right - i mean i know when i thrash the tits off my dad's kia carnival i can't help but wish it was RWD so i could rip fat dardy skids in it

(that was sarcasm)

i don't think toyota wanted the alphard to make big power mods or to be raced man!

they're in a special category of vehicles that's designed to move people ;):P

that's totally why buses are FWD right? (that too was sarcasm)

he's right, most things that are designed to carry heavy loads or pull heavy loads are RWD so that the wheels don't bog down like a dog dragging its arse on the floor. Most of the FWD models switch to AWD when there's too much load or slip on the front. Only poverty model vans come in FWD... like a Kia Carnival :(

    • All 3 I guess. The car came with the JASI Aero 4 door Type R Full Kit unpainted so this was one thing at the top of my list to complete then I noticed there were body panels parts for this kit so i picked them up along with some black mesh to fill in the front bumper and front side air vents. car is at a paint and body shop atm completing this work. Next I will be addressing the internal bells and whistles, great summer project I can do with the kids.  full interior removal - ,boys car sound deadening - pads and spray ,boys stereo, sound, lighting - Big 3, GTT or bigger alternator ,kids head lining - dye black add star lighting mod ,daughter. That's it for the next 5-6 months. I have some motor maintenance  work i have to plan out. oil filter relocation, gaskets, mounts. beyond that, mind is starting to turn over if i can use a DET intake plenum, block off turbo ports & pipe in a air intake.
    • roller coaster of a ride. Alarm system was removed & main harness was repaired where possible. still no fix just random successful starts. moved on to the replacing the ignition switch and relay. well all this troubleshooting & repair has been going on, the car is at a paint and body shop being pushed around. Ive been going down there on odd days after work to get it sorted.

    • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
