Webs hasn't done too badly overall. If it weren't for his 5-place demotion he would've been sitting pretty. Decent result today for him I think.

Let's hope our other fellow Aussies can deliver an even better result in an hour's time... go the Socceroos!

agree, seems a bit strange to swap the gearbox out after he posts great times in the quali...

he's in 4th now. I don't know id he can keep the pace up for the rest of the season... I really hope he does

Great race, very exciting. All it was missing was a Hamilton crash and a pussy cat doll jumping up and down in a tight dress...

Yeh, i think Webber was holding on as long as posible knowing he had the option to switch to and needed to amke that stint as short as possible. I think there were hoping that the others had to pit.

But the interesting thing was Vettels problem, Webber with fresher tyres seemed to button it off to hold the gap so eith erhad asimialr problem to Vettel or was told ot hold station. The last few laps of Vettel were 3-5 seconds off the pace and Webber should have had him.... :( Would have put him a closer 3rd to Button.

So well done to McLaren, they are hanging around and now have got the car pace. Can RBR respond? I dont think they will have a chance at Silverston based on the Macs new found speed

How's Vetools radio

"Whats the fastest time of the race?"

Mate you have an ailing car and are in 4th place,

good to see you thinking of yourself and not the team...

Oh wait, that is always the case....

Yep.

Agreed, it was a good race, the 70 laps went quickly.

Pretty good result for the scuderia, been a while since they were on the podium this year right?

probably doesn't want engine to blow, whatever the problem is they'll fix it so no penalty come next race. Probably run fresh engine/gearbox in next race without penalty.

Agree,

What penalty will be handed out for Kubes last sec cut entry to pit lane?

Hammo - Nice drive, as much as I hate to admit it, gotta be gracious in defeat. Mac did the deal, 2 races in a row... On this form they might well take the double this year if RBR don't get their shit together.

Jens - As above.

Nando - Nice to see him up the pointy end again, giving no quarter as usual.

Vet - Not bad, kept a pretty steady ship.. Just me or is he a hard f*cker on the car??

Mark - RBR duped him bad, should've pitted 5 laps prior...

MSC - WTF!!?!?!?! Dude... Get you're sh1t together, how many chicanes you want to cut?? But nice door shutting tho! Reminiscent of Sept 1939.. :(

Koob - Should be replacing Massa at teh Fez. That pit-lane entry though does deserve a reprimand, it was potentially very dangerous..

Strong showings from Toro Rossa and Force India.

Best race of the season fo shizz... Schumy to get a bit of a smack on the bum for some of those precarious moves... Grid penalty next race I reckon. Why no investigation on Hammo for unsafe release??? I think it was pretty borderline, should have at least been investigated...

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
