Kinks
Shame Bridgestone are leaving the sport... yes and no.. the current bridgestones are so good that you can drive a full race on one set of tyres if you want. i would prefer that they give significantly more grip for about half the time and then drop off a cliff. that would make the racing interesting because it forces teams to pick their moment to change. now you can just manage the whole grand prix ohhh we were quick and ran a long stint it's now 10 laps from the end i guess we gotta start thinking of pulling in so we use the other compound. highest level of racing, tyres that last a full race even starting super heavy on fuel? come on. let's see some pit crew action. What an absolute waste of time an Indian GP would beWith so many better places they could run GP weekends, who though the sub continent would be anywhere near the top the list. bernie is pushing F1 into all these places for one reason. MONEY. can run events cheaper, and squeeze more races into a season by persuading countries to build new tracks. fatter hip wallet. he gives Tillke a reacharound to flog out some more brain-dead track layouts and away we go. ctjet
I dont think so, too much went wrong with the last tyre war. One manufacturer will excel at a particular track or weather temp and ruin the potential for close racing. With a control tyre, it takes away a variable that the teams have no control over or can improve on anyway. For example, i would hate knowing ahead of time that if its a cold-ish week in brazil that the redbulls with have suddenly have a performance advantage over the other guys. Or, If its blisteringly hot, The fuzz will tear up Shanghai because they treat their rears well. wolverine
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport...one/9065307.stm Former Formula One world champion Kimi Raikkonen has angrily rejected talk he could make a return to F1 next season driving for Renault. The 2007 champion now drives in the world rally championship, but Renault boss Eric Boullier said Raikkonen had been in touch about coming back to F1. But the former Ferrari driver, now 30, criticised Renault for using his name for "their own marketing purposes". "It's 100% certain I will not drive for Renault in 2011," said Raikkonen. "My managers have weeks ago been in contact, once, with Renault's team leader (Eric Boullier). That is all," added Raikkonen, in an interview with a Finnish newspaper. Ok Kimi, so exactly why did your managers contact Renault? Kimi in a rally car is like Piquet Jnr in an F1 car given his last outing..... ctjet
After a few months of just horrible race tracks and shitty racing (excluding the wet fun in Spa) finally we get to a track that kicks some ass. The last two tracks were complete and utter shit Tipping vettel for a good show, and for no particular reason, i see webber maybe having a tough one Either way, anybody but massa for the win Edited October 7, 2010 by ctjet Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/300222-2010-f1-season/page/149/#findComment-5485073 Share on other sites
nismoman
Massa will not win any race from now on this season. Ferrari orders. Only way he might, is if Alonso is out of the race or completely out of the points. Roy
So, both RBR drivers were slapped on the wrists...."recpect one another children" ... but this weekend is going to end in tears for RBR. It seems clear already, this early in the weekend that they are racing themselves. RBR dont chase the timesheets on Fridays, my memory tells me every time they have been comfortably quicker in FP1 then they only ended up going quicker and gapping the other teams So, this weekend seems to be the sphincter of the universe Rd2....Vettel wants points, is desperate for points and Webber will need this win with his team mate behing him to give him a gap to Alonso, and put Vettel out of the running. Assuming Webber, Vettel Alsonso (Maybe Kuz can sneak into 3rd???) then it means Webber will have 21 points on Alonso and 28 on Vettel.... IF, we reverse it and Vettel bags 1st with Webber behind him it means Webber only has 14 points to both Alonso and Vettel....surely this is far too tight for RBR going into the final 3 races. Dont think RBR or Webber want the win given to him....but Webber really needs to show the pace he has shown in past years at Suzuka this weekend as he has a quick team mate and its critical he beats him this weekend. Playing with the numbers, if Webber bags a win in the next 4 races it really only means he needs 3 3rds to sew it up provided Sebv doesnt win the other 3. So, if there are any side by side action, is it going to be another bash-clash lottery dip to see who still has a drivable car? I suspect Vettel will ptu Webber to the sword thinking Webber will protect his points lead and take 18 points...will Mark let him push him around????? Roy
Shaun...how many GPs has Webz bagged this year???? He obviously can get it off the line just fine. He has one terrible start in Valencia, an ordinary start in Monza. Dont think you can blame a car problem on Webz for what happened at Spa....he will get it off the line...the questio will be is he racing Vettel to turn 1 from pole of P2 on the grid ?
