haha love it all

had some guy and his girlfriend walk upto my car at ampol servo near my house.. was just getting food .. not fuel!! :D

he walks up, and initially is impressed about it.. considering i had 3 girls in my car.. (go skyline you pimp!) and im only 18.

His girlfriend cant get enough of it, shes all over it, asking me things about this and that and can i get in etc etc

Guy starts to change attitude, asks me to pop the bonnet. Straight away says

"****ing 4 cylinder jap crap", me and the girls where like huh?

i prompty said "mate its got six cylinders" he replies with "what kinda shit 6cylinder is 2.5liter -(reads rocker cover)" ?

I say "Man sheer displacement is a thing of the past, compared to a descent turbo its just silly to go buy a fuel guzzling 5 litre that has the same power as a 4 cylinder turbo. Displacement was the power when you were young, now im young and its turbo."

He laughs and says " If i hadnt had a few drinks ide race you for pink slips, got me a 351 chevy or something like that .. etc"

He then progresses to compare everything on my car to his "9 Second street legal dragster"

Him "How much where your tyres?"

Me "Came with the car, about $250 i think"

Him "Mine are $1200 each, slicks" (ok im starting to think this aint street legal, and ultimately doesnt exist)

Comparing goes on for awhile to which in the meantime his girlfriend is playing around with my sony headdeck :D

Comes back out and says lets go,

walks of storming

i drive off flying ;)

some drunk dude: is that a silvia

his gf hits him

drunk dude: yea thats a silvia hey?

me: um.. last time i checked..

drunk dude: do a skid!

you wont belive how many times i get told to do a skid.. im so sick of it.. its got stock rims, a bit lowered and raised bonnet.. and a rather loud exhaust.. and ppl still yell out do a skid bro. - it looks like a crappy 1.8 silvia..

but thats one more thing.. whats wrong with your bonnet? is your bonnet shut? OH DUDE... QUICK YOUR BONNET IS UP!!!! those are the funniest! (its got spacers to let hot air out)

haha gotta love it

i love the whole 'mysterious' / 'amazed' / 'envied' / 'Jeolous' etc reactions that come with being out in public in a skyline etc

im only 18 and own one of the best GTSt's around, thanks to alot of hard work and strong desire to have a car that is uniquely mine,

I was hammered with "buy a shitbox first so if you crash it.. etc etc"

But i came to the conclusion that if i buy a shitbox.. thats exacly how ill treat it.. like shyt

I wanted to buy something i respect, love and admire as my car.

I got that, and look after it better than i do myself hehe

Its something that comes with the car, cos i havent met one person with a skyline that isnt the same

Best ever: (AND MOST ANNOYING!!!

Coming from a very differnet range of people on very regualr occasions... I am sure you all heard it before. I guy/girl come running up to you after you park at maccas or what ever... "Um excuse me your car is still running" I explain.... then i get

"Whats a turbo timer" "WHats a turbo" " What does the turbo do?" "How fast can ytour car go?"

I mean hello! Turbos and turbo timers have been out for yonks!

I was at the intersection of South Tce and Pultney St and had a Dunnydore next to me. This 'wobblie' was walking across the lights and as he passed the front of my 33 he shouted " On your marks, get set GO!"...Yer back to Glenside with ya!

"Whats a turbo timer" "WHats a turbo" " What does the turbo do?" "How fast can ytour car go?"

I mean hello! Turbos and turbo timers have been out for yonks!

Haha, that reminds me when I was in primary school in the 70's. There were a couple of kids in my year (wouldn't call them friends) who used to draw "rally cars" with "turbos" in them. Everyone kept talking about turbos and stuff, until one day I got curious and asked what a turbo was because they'd write "TURBO" on the car but I couldn't see anything different to normal on it.

The guys who "knew" what a turbo was looked at each other and pissed themselves laughing, saying as if I wouldn't know what a turbo is. I got a bit embarrassed, and said "Well how would I know what one is if no one ever told me what it was before? Did you know what it was before anyone told you?" One of the guys said "Yeah, I did!" At this point I realised that he was something of a mental giant.

So I said "Ok then, so what's a turbo?" and the guys kept looking at each other and laughing, then one guy said "You tell him" to the other one. So the second guy said "Ok look. You'll be driving the car along right, then all of a sudden it will go a lot faster." doing moving motions with his hands as if it was the car.

I said "Ok that might be what it does, but what is it?" "I just told you, are you ****ing stupid!?" was the reply.

At this point I did not only not feel embarrassed, but felt a hell of a lot smarter than these idiots, even if I still didn't know what a turbo was. I found out what a turbo was some time later, and after that I occasionally said to one of them "So, do you know what a turbo is yet?" and never got an answer. I presume he knows what one is now, maybe :D

A few months ago I gave my wife the keys to a new Z4 and told her to take it for a spin. She disappeared for 2 hours. When she came back she told me about a man who was crossing the road at a set of lights where she was stopped. The guy stopped right in front of the car and just stared at it with his mouth open. It seemed like forever and he didn't move until the lights changed and people started honking their horns. My wife was scared shitless and locked the doors.

the funniest story i heard was from a friend who has a silvia ... he used to work in this factory and it was full of bogans ... u know aussies who don't know better ... anyways he got told one day from one of his workmates ... that his friend saw some guy leaving a pretty nice car and that the engine was still on after he had left the car ... and he said that he was going to go steal it LOL ... then my friend said to him its a turbo car ... and he was like wtf is a turbo?? hahaha

he lives in Kashyyyk you southpark loving freak... now get back under your rock...

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
