Theyre the strongest out of all the models of skyline, but then they also modified the gearboxes when the s2 r33 gtr was released (double synchros, stronger 3rd gear)...

Standard GTR boxes are good for around the 500hp mark, after that you run the risk of stripping 3rd, which is where the ppg and os giken kits come into effect. For dans use tho, I think a standard 3rd gear out of any late GTR box will be enough - unless he wants to spend the $5k on the osgiken gearset..

What? I thought 32 GTR boxes were renouned for being super-strong?

pretty sure Dan has a twin plate button, OS gearset wouldnt be too much harder, haha.

Im just trying to hold off on the smashed box jokes.

i have been wondering why you havnt posted one yet lol

The Nismo copper mix twin plate clutchs, one of which Dan is running make for an exremely streetable clutch,

If I had the coin - Thats the clutch I'd go for.

BIT-SUS, whas the PPG gearset like to drive with?

pretty sure you have been ill advised

the OS giken gearset is discontinued also

really Chad

there is basically only a couple of gearboxes nissan built RB20, RB25push RB25Pull seen in late model 32 and all 33 GTR's some late model s2 33's might have the pull type gear box too

does nobody read these days

Nope, you're thinking straight cut gears (PPG, Hollinger)... the os giken gearsets are the same synchromesh gears the stock box has, but made of higher quality metal (with slightly different ratios too)

I've read in other places from SAU that the GTR gearbox is the strongest of the lot steve, can you point us towards any documentation that says otherwise? The 25 has the same gear ratios as the gtr but not the same xfer case, aside from common gears I dont know if theres any other differences in the running gear, aside from the previously mentioned mods that were applied to s2 33 gtrs

Don't the OS gearsets make your car a fvcken cop to drive?

25 boxes probably are just as tough as the gtr boxes if they do use the same gears, they'd also have the added bonus of fitting a rwd car better than the gtr xfer case... for street driving the boxes should hold up quite decently, but if ur gonna give the car a good working out with a beefy engine i suppose thats when you go to osgiken or dog boxes ;P I'd love the os giken kit tbh but theyre $5k per set...

not sure Ben just something i heard along my skyline travels

there are however exceptions to every rule see mention of Andrew aka Blue32

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
