yeah I agree, I enjoy having my chin and my nose protected. it's a bit shit if you have an accident in a open face helmet only to have a broken jaw and a fked nose....

you can get a great full face motorbike helmet (that will be suitable for car use) for less than $300 these days. specialist car helmets cost more for some reason but there is not a lot between them. just make sure whatever you get meets the current AS.

Bell are making helmets for RPM and are sold at revolution race gear for around $400. As stated they are made by Bell Europe.

For the odd track day they would be perfect.

I still went with a Bell myself as it was a little lighter and the hardware was better quality but double the price.

I had a Nitro helmet previously which I was very happy with for the money. It was no more than a few hundred $$$ and was very comfortable. Can get them from Revolution Racegear (not sure if you still can, but I got mine form there) or bike shops.

Have just picked up a Bell which is leagues ahead, but then again it's a $1400 helmet as opposed to a $200 helmet so it should be.

yeah I like the Bell helmets. very good. I'm currently using an AGV rossi replica. lol. I use it on my 100cc scooter to get to work and it's great in the car too. very nice helmet and great lining.

gwin: I don't think I am who you think I am. if that makes sense.

Open or closed whatever suits you Champ.

With a head like yours it should ALWAYS be a closed helmet ;)

Personally I would only ever take full face. open face might be legal but is no-where near as safe and some places may require full face.

X2 but its what your comfortable with, plenty of peeps out there wearing opened helmets but more so in tarmac/rally

Best thing is they're cheap from the 'states right now

Wonder if the better half would notice a very late xmas present to myself :P

That's not fair champ, you obviously aren't aware that I've been voted "best on ground" at tugga five years running now.......... You still wearing two helmets ya inbred? ;)

Due to all the travel i was doing i decided to have the second head removed so i would "blend in" when i crossed the border. I dont get charged excess baggage anymore either which is nice but i still get some funny looks when im wearing my custom leathers at the track :P

If you decide to run that gauntlet try bellhelmets.com. Great to deal with, really fast shipping, and better shipping prices if you email them ;)

:P its funny you posted that cause i just sent them an email (from my personal account of course) and i've already come up with the cover story "it was ordered and paid for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before xmas but they were low on stock so i had to wait" ;)

Haha :P

Speak with Mike Moncanda there, very helpful. I got shipping for around $85US I think for a helmet, extra visor and helmet bag and it was here within a week. He also gave me a fair discount on a Vortex2 becuase the Vortex1 could not accept the visor I wanted

Haha :D

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
