This is a true story that happend to me - Tyres are Khumo 265/35/18 Esta less then 10,000k had a pucture but I didnt realise it was flat as I rarely drive it and I dont know how long I have been driving on it for. Finally realised it when i went to check tyre pressure ( usully check every 3 month ) Fixed the puncture ( was a small screw )

Driving 60km is fine, anything over 100km/hr car shakes real bad ( got front wheels aligned when i got new tyres ) still shaking over 100km/hr before Xmas to pass Rego before i went on 5wk holidays.

Came back on holidays and found pigeons have made nest on my Balcony - having no choice as i dont want pidgeon poo every I got rid of the two eggs ( this is like the 4th time they set nest on my balcony - one time I let them hatch and let the pidgeon grow up and fly away - but cleanup was yukk never again 3 months of pidgeon poo ). and then on Australia day went for a drive to the cemetary at Pinegrove. I checked tyre pressure before i went and pumped it to 40.

Coming back from Pinegrove to Parramatta, heard the loadest POP, loader then exhuast backfiring. Pulled over into side street as i knew i had a flat tyre. Changed it with the space saver. Space saver was a bit soft was OK - but less then 50 meters it gave out also. So i limped all the way back home as i ran out of options.

k what happened to your tyre is when u got the puncture repaired it was done on a tyre that was run well under pressure which damages the internal side wall of the tyre and that is the reason for the blow out.

you should also when you check your tyre pressures also check that of the spare tyre so u would run into this problem

+1 for the pigeons.

as for your tyre letting go, driving on it flat is what did the damage. then it probably would've had an egg on the side which caused the vibration and it eventually let go.

oh and i check/alter the pressure in my spare every 6 months.

what the f**k +1 what do pidgeons have to do with this story.

i use to get blow outs like this when i ran kumho's on my accord euro admittedly was low as fk but tyres would wear out in 5000ks cos of camber and 3 of the rear's blew out same as this, but not from driving while flat *shrug*

That'd scare the heck out of me. I dont even carry a spare.

Once you've had a drive on them when they are flat then its generally too late to replace. When the flat tyre comes off the rim (if its been driven whilst flat) its usually filled with powdery rubber.

The only time i've ever had a tyre blow out on me was a long time ago when my ol Lancer got into a drift (in the dry around a corner, NO handbrake) hit a gutter side on and blew out front and rear passenger side tyres. Needless to say that only ever happened once a very long time ago now.

what camber are you running? seems odd to have the space saver roll off the rim too, unless it was dead flat and you were driving too fast.

Maybe the pidgeon's sabotaged your tyre, slashing it with their katana's when they realised you eated their eggs for breakfast that day..... hmmmmm

I always check my pressures everytime I fill up (once a week) and the spare once a month.

Oh and if you're not a pleb, you can feel when you have a tyre with lower pressure.

As said driving whilst flat/low pressure will damage the sidewalls, so replace the tyre.

To the fella with the accord euro, a relatively crap tyre with way too much camber (and probably too much toe) will put huge amounts of load on the hinge point of the tyre, which is probably why you got so many blowouts.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
