I have heard of people getting good results from them and I've also read about people who have had the cheap ones shit themselves very quickly. Sort of a lucky draw type affair.

As always, Name brand turbos that lots of people use are costly for a reason...they are proven time and time again to do exactly the job they are said too do.

yeah thats the hard part iv also heard people picking the short straw with a bung unheard of turbo..! and then again people getting great resaults from a ebay turbo lol

best bet is to go for something with results to back it up. ebay is for second hand goods and the like, not for selling shit you couldnt sell in a shop.

we all know those turbos are bad, and you have to be lucky to get one that doesnt shit itself in a hurry.

just buy a garrett or get a hiflow done.

Do NOT get a eBay turbo. What would you prefer? Having to replace your turbo everytime you boost it or spend a bit more and know it's not going to break. My mate made that mistake. The turbo blew up on the dyno while it was getting tuned. So probably had 50km on it. Then he got a Garret. Wasted $600

Always Turbonetics, A'PEXI, Blitz, Trust and a bunch more if you just have a thing against Garrett

But as far as ebay Turbos think of it this way, 600 bucks for the Turbo on the off chance its one of decent build. But if its like most of them than $600 or the turbo and if it shits itself well enough a wallet killing amount for the rebuild and then another Turbo.

From what ive seen the results are never great, they might make 250rwkw but they dont come onto boost until 5000rpm..and do you think that they will last 15-20 years like the garretts, KKK's, MHI, IHI etc turbos do.

Nor can you get parts for the cheapies if a seal lets go or a comp wheel gets chipped etc.

Id rather pay 2k for a decent trust turbo now and know that in 10years i can rebuild it for 120 bucks rather than buy a 120 buck turbo 10 times

no matter what we tell you, you will keep going for the cheap turbocharger on ebay

so go for it

any turbocharger sub $600 is junk, lots of mangle work to make it fit, non ball bearing, oil cooled, custom everything to make it fit, poor response etc

for you, im thinking hypergear.. you seem rather cost focused, bang for buck. Hypergear sells a good product and gets the results to match.

Have a look at his list, I think he can set you up something 250kw capable for about 1400 or so and bolts back onto your stock position etc.

For a cheap reliable turbo I'll be voting for Hypergear too. Mine's pulling 300rwkws full boost at 4500RPM and I thrash the crap out of it every day no problem at all. Plus all your stock lines, manifold and dump bolts up.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
