Turbosmart Boost Tee, set it up inside your engine bay so you cant touch it without pulling over and popping your bonnet. Had a friend run through 3 engines because he had it in cabin and could just wind it up at any time.

Given it was a Turbo Holden V6 but still...3 engines gone.

+1 for turbotech manual boost controller.. never had a spike in both my RB20 and RB25.. all other electric boost controllers spiked like crazy.. turbotech uses the Spring and ball.. no bleeding of the air!

iv alwaysed used them in my drift cars there awsome. set your boost and never touch it again!

stock turbo you cant go past the turbotech. a spike in the midrange isnt gonna hurt the turbo, all that matters if that your boost up around 6-7000rpm isnt much more than 12psi

if you have a bigger turbo i'd recommend a profec b II, they seam a bit shitty at first and not so great to use but its very good at controlling boost

you could just replace the wastegate actuator with an aftermarket one and run constant higher boost if that's all you want to achieve. much safer, and undefectable.

i mean, who are we kidding, you're gonna wind up the boost, get it tuned to that boost level to make max power, and then forget about it until you get pulled over and dicked for having a boost controller that's bright pink or whatever lebo colours they come in these days.

I herd it's dangerous to run a manual boost tee as for boost spike

Well gossip in the tea room never helped anyone.

I ran had around 10psi bleeding through a manual valve, 370rwkw/24psi... there is no issue if correctly done. That is a fact.

IMO you probably don't even need one.

    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?

    • Yep four point harness. Mounted to a bolted in brace running behind the seats. Dont use it for daily driving tbh but good to have for when its needed plus it looks cool.
    • I had to double check the thread title r34 gtt offset advice lol. Thought maybe i posted on the wrong thread. 😂
