nah with optus...due for a free upgrade on my plan..heaps of mates and my mrs and family with them too...so sticking to them...therefore HTC aria is only option for me. with HTC variety..

i got the galaxy, xperia and aria to choose from...

free iphone 4 and samsung galaxy s from work FTMFW.

galaxy's got my own custom kernel compile and iphone's hax0rd beyond recognition... now shits all over galaxy that's still rocking peasant status battery life (even with process optimisations and auto radio switchoff), fucked up android UI that looks like a bag of dicks, display that's hardghey 2008 spec and apps... well lack of anything that's really useful as far as apps go.

in summary, fuck any android phone. jailbroken developer iphone FTW.

does the iphone make calls and sms?

hahaha...i hate any apple products and will stay away from them as much as i can... so iphone is not what i want to go for...Therefore according to my research, the galaxy is the next best option...

also clutch...pretty sure the sony can be upgraded to 2.1 version...but nothing is up for 2.2...

galaxy has 2.2 version out a week back i think...thats also why i am leanign towards getting the galaxy....

cept thanks to android structure if you bought your phone under contract you have to:

1) wait for your manufacturer to compile a compatible (ie add useless junk to the vanilla android OS) version for your phone

2) wait for your carrier to then rape that carrier provided version further by adding their branded useless junk.

this usually delays any release flowing to your phone by anywhere from 3 months to 6 months. enjoy.

does the iphone make calls and sms?

actually my iphone makes calls, sms, video conferencing, skype, email (exchange for work and gmail for personal), syncs contacts with gmail, syncs contact photos with facebook, tweets from twitter, tells me places for coffee and food via urbanspoon, tells me about traffic, boozebusses and speed cameras via trapster, navigation via tom tom, syncs via bluetooth to my sony headphones, my 16 satellite GPS receiver, and plugs into my car and lets me play music on it through my stereo and use the steering wheel controls natively, logs my trips automatically when it senses its in the car, then emails me a spreadsheet at the end of each month to give to work.

my galaxy on the other hand can connect to my samsung tv and make calls and send sms and look at flash (90% of which is just annoying ads anyways). fucking woo hoo.

If i wanted a deadshit phone I'd have bought a nokia, they're the best phones ever. I wanted a smartphone. fuck off with you "does it make calls" BS, if your phone fails to do everything short of juggling your nuts while giving you a sloppy BJ then you're either that poor that you can't afford new tech, or some kinda neanderthal that lives in the outback with no reception.

besides. kinda dumb when your day job is developing shit for iphone and android and you rock tech from the 90's. kinda like driving an R31 when you work for ferrari.

so, what your trying to say is.... it can make calls and sms then

lol...shan you are an apple fan ey....its just general convo...dont get worked up abt it...

lol not really, i'll jump ship the moment someone brings in something better. really looking forward to android 3, hopefully google gets their balls in a bunch and cut out all this custom UI shit layered on by manufacturers and just roll out a unified OS.

testing windows 7 phones atm, good interface, great for old people and little kids. useless for power users, unless someone customises the crap out of it.

yes.

hey i am upgrading from the n95...they were good phones...hopefully tonight ill go get the galaxy...yay...cant wait...

let us know what its like, i think its exact same as iphone, but i would like to be proven wrong

Car shit has to be settled legally now since the pricks wanna wash their hands of it. Like with lawyers and ombudsmen and shit  I am now in the market for either a) people who can hook me up with shithot legal personnel or b) a gun to put in my mouth cuz at this rate it'll be this time next year by the time the r is back on the roads.

f**k my life.

(too serious for acronyms.)

    • Ok guys thank you very much. GCG highflow it is then 🙂
    • forgot to mention that when it does this it does not kill the engine, but I have not kept the pedal down long enough to let it, as I see no reason to beat up on it as its got to be something simple, small and dumb causing this.  And as soon as I let off pedal, the engine returns to its normal super smooth operation and rpms re-stabilize quickly, once below 4k.
    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
