Turbo - from $1300-1700 brand new

Ecu - from $800-1200 used PFC

Injectors - $800-1200 depending on brand. New

Fuel pump - $200

Custom dump pipe - ~200

Wastegate - 500-700 new

Labour - depends who

Dunno if I'm missing anything but they would be the essentials.

1300-1700 won't get you a new Garrett with a IW. Also not included in your price is oil and water lines. Extended studs. Spacers, Garrett dump pipe.

1700 will get you a external wasted turbo. Gt30 or 35

Most people with street setup cars dun want a big obvious external wastegate there lol

why singapore/thailand muznick?

im going europe next year should be good

was my sister-in-laws idea to go

planning on going US when the dollar is apperently going to get even better

coz he likes the asian bitches

damn straight

My tuner seems completely comfortable with tuning the boost up to 14psi on my beloved r33 provided its being managed by a good electronic boost controller. Reckons he's done tonnes of RB25s with 14 odd psi and acknowledges that while it's up on the limits of what the turbo can achieve, it will be relatively safe. I'm a little hesitant.

I added external gate price so why would the price I said be for a IW lol

I estimated a price too, I can get a 3582 for 1400 so I just added a few hundred more for retail.

Does that mean your running IW? When the time comes I'm definitely running external, your only worried because your an eastie lol

on a bigger turbo better to run an external gate as itll control boost better

IW can spike on high boost applications

plus external can be plumbed back and still be fairly quite on the street, and be hidden in the engine bay..... somewhat lol

LOL

Have you measured the diametre of the pipes?

Even if you can't get to the inpipe, measure the outpipe diametre.

"Very rich tune"..?

You have a stock ECU / Re-tune..?

Turbo cars run alittle more rich, which is normal.

I guess if you do go ahead with the ECU, it can benefit in terms of refinement of your Air / Fuel system = Smoother running car = Better performance.

ive got that tuned nismo ecu in my car atm. ive got the money for an ecu right now so i was thinking of getting it or maybe ill just buy a blitz frontpipe.

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
