Hey Guys,

Can someone recommend me the optimum semi slick tyre size to use on my R32 GTR rims (16"x8") for track duties. I'm looking at buying a set of Toyo R888 245/45/16 but not sure if width and sidewall height is best suited for the track.

Thanks

Ive got 265 40/17 Dunlop D01J on 17 x 9, I think its a matter of finding a supplier for the size your after, good luck with your search.

if your track work is sprints, than I'd stick with 225/50. 245 on an 8" rim will be less responsive and be difficult to get pressures right to optimise the contact patch.

I'd also recommend selecting another brand of semi slick - I'm not at all impressed with R888s.

What other semis are you comparing them too.

Most people have found R888's to be the best grip vs life vs price semi available.

The performance of the Yoko's are better (they heat cycle out after about 15-20 runs ie 2-3 track days), the R888's whilst not quite as good performance wise last 5 plus times as long.

I won't buy the R888's again because I don't think they are as good but I can also confirm they last WAY longer than any other semi! Also they may be better for heavier cars.
