Not many workshops know how to do them in a fashion that doesnt crease the lining. There's a trick to do them neatly.

Yeah, mine were not done neatly either, seems there are huge washers used and the lining is bulging in sections :(

It's no biggie but it's not good workmanship :(

I have seen some work shops actually drill right through the roof of the car and bolt them in the valley above the tailgate.....Not pretty and leaves a huge risk of rust and water leaking into your car. On top of that they made three large holes in the plastic cover in the roof at the tailgate and when they mounted the anchors the plastic cracked........

thank god mine were done well. Thanks Ben.

Ouch, I hope that is not how mine has been done. I havn't taken it off to have a look but now I'm afraid to do so.

I do have a small water leak on the right hand side of the vehicle right at the back, however I'm hoping this leak is coming from the small crack in my rear sunroof rubber. I do have a new rubber but Hornsby Nissan were unable to fit it due to needing specialist equipment. I'm hoping someone like Windscreens Obrien or someone who specializes in servicing automotive sunroofs can fit the new rubber.

Crease the plastic, leak water past the rear door rubber, look bloody stupid, the retard that installed mine should be shot. Wanker. Surely there are simple instructions to follow for installing such an important safety item, the government wouldnt let people just guess how to do these things would they?

Yeah it wouldn't surprise me to be honest.

+1 from me as well... :(

Properly fitted with no roof lining creases by Northshore...

On my old R33 4dr, this has also been done properly, and my car was one of the few where they were not installed through the rear speakers... Could not belive that SEVS workshops were just drilling through the speakers to make their job easier..

Mine are badly done. Straight through the metal behind the boot seal.

They leaked in the rain until I sealed them up.

I actually need to take it all apart and check for rust.

The interior trim is wrecked as well.

I honestly don't understand the kind of mind that is happy to do such a shitty job.

Actually I'm going to make a confession. Before I realised the child restraint anchors were on the roof, I used the latches on the boot floor thinking they were the right ones to use..

Using your method, you can fit several car seats :D

The anchor points are good though, I've used them with cargo straps... nice and strong

Hi, Anybody from NZ here that has had the babyseat anchors added to their M35 Stagea? I'm located in Hamilton.

Cheers,

Tom

I would have "assumed" that your compliancing rules would have been the same as ours, and it would have been done before being registered.

Anyway, if you need them done you may be best off talking to a compliancing workshop, don't know if there is one in hamilton but it could be worth a shot.

    • forgot to mention that when it does this it does not kill the engine, but I have not kept the pedal down long enough to let it, as I see no reason to beat up on it as its got to be something simple, small and dumb causing this.  And as soon as I let off pedal, the engine returns to its normal super smooth operation and rpms re-stabilize quickly, once below 4k.
    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
