but I would be curious to see what the cost is involved in getting them pulled out.

I've seen some cars with roofs like old tin foil. I wonder also what can and cannot be pulled out.

im normally at subiaco tafe at the time of the storm. thankfully i had other stuff on so i couldn't make it. so very very lucky god was on my side that day.

did u guys see the guy on the motor bike getting  on ch 7 news last night , what a machine

and the thornlie tree man is still in his tree

now would be a good time to go shopping 4 a car if u dont mind some dents and fixing the windows :P

My car tucked safe in the garage... Anyone catch the train during the storm? I got on nice and dry at Subiaco(just beat it to the station) then to my amusement watched everyone else get on at the next stations looking like drowned rats.

So very very lucky god was on my side that day.

If there is a God, I'm now a believer!

My house got struck by the hail with broken windows, satellite dish & water is leaking through the roof yesterday at 4, on that day I finished class at around 2 & I thought about leaving Curtin & going back home. If I had gone home then my car would have being 100% f**ked as my garage is full with crap) but then decided I better stay & do some work coz of this dam hard assignment that was due at the end of this week.

THANK GOD for that (& also a big thank you to the lecturer who gave me that really hard assignment which made me stay behind  ), my car was left at Curtin car park & therefore undamaged.

I think my car & my dad's car were the only ones that are never garaged on our street that were undamaged. All the cars parked at Tuart College were pretty much f**ked with hail.

im sure hail damage is fully covered if u have full comp insurance but....

a customer came to our workshop for a quote on a rebuild for his engine as his delivery driver drove the car into a 1 meter deep puddle, 3rd cylinder dropped compression, most likely a bent con rod from the water, he had full comp insurance on it but they are only covering half the cost of the engine as it was partly (in my opinion 100%) the drivers fault for being stupid enough to drive into one.. lol there is no hail damage on the car though

i bet there are a few cars out there with bent con-rods since yesterday.. hmm good time to buy i think

Yeah if you want a car with a pock marked body, a half-fcuked engine, and no grease left in the wheel bearings.

no hail for gozzy, got power back on around 8. the road in the front of my house was flooded. went out in my bro 4wd trying to find any fast food. went all the way to cannington, then all the way to armadale, armadale had power but never ended up getting food

I drove through a pretty long deep puddle other people were too scared of driving through (doing u-turns even 4wds lol). It wouldn't have reached the POD filter but sure would have got to the intercooler. Don't think any water got into the engine as I didn't notice any major differences when driving today. I assume it would be really noticeable if you bent a con-rod like running without a cylinder firing pretty much?

Mates lancer got hit with hail stones and he just recently took the natural disaster off his insurance to get a cheaper premium haha "There are never any natural disasters in perth..."

yes, what company are you with?
im with just cars -_- called them and they told me 1900 excess but no premium increase. good thing is its only got 5 big dents and 2 small ones.. i still dont wanna pay tho.. stupid insurance. i thought hail damage would be covered for free -_-

    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
