I drove my car down the coast recently, the stock lights are not that great at all in the dark. All I'm after is some bright light, so would be after a 4300K kit.

My question is, how do the N1 headlights cope with HIDs? Is the glare and cut off terrible? Would a low heat kit help the level of light?

Heat and kelvin rating are often misunderstood.

Kelvin rating is the measurement given to the colour of the light. The higher the Kelvin rating the bluer the eventually purple the light is. The heat given off the HID bulb is actually a little less than halogens.

For reference 5000k is the colour of daylight. And one of the most brightest.

4300k is also bright and gives off a nice white colour with the slightest of yellow hue.

To answer you question about N1 headlights. The cutoff wont be as good as a projector style headlight but will be ok if you adjust your beam accordingly.

Hey why don't you just put in something like a Narva Blue Power.. These have a Kelvin of 3750 and a Lumen of 2000 so the have 80% more light and 20% whiter Light

And unlike the HID's they are 100% ADR approved. I have these in my daily and beleive me the are twice as good as the stock ones and also look great with the white light.

Or

If you don't mind spending more money (no point on my daily lol) then the Philips Blue Vision is the way to go also ADR approved and have Kelvin of 4000.

Now they are no where near as good as the Factory fitted Xenons i had in the GTT but they are legal and trust me they are not far off.

Andy that is awesome, cheers. I'll look into that for sure. I'd only be after 4300k HID (although 5000k would be best if possible) so 4000k would be sweet.

I had a Series 3 R33 GTR and that had such sweet lights, the cut off was awesome. So these seem terrible in comparison.

Phillips do a 5000k globe called Diamond Vision but keep in mind just like the aftermarket HID's no ADR LINK

Phillips Xenons are only 4200k but they are 300% brighter then normal globes Link

99 GTT, How do you know that the Narva Blue Power and Phillips Blue Vision have 2000 lumen or less? Did you find the specs somewhere? Can I have the link?

I was looking for bulbs with 2000 lumen to put in my car. Thanks.

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again 
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻   
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
