100% correct Bobby! No hand held cameras by passengers whilst in car.

Only correctly mounted cameras will be allowed (plenty of methods out there so do a forum search).

If any passengers are seen holding a camera or video camera whilst on the track, they will lose their passenger pass for the rest of the day! Don't risk it guys n gals. There are plenty of great places around the track to snap that perfect photo!!

It's common sense and a simple saftey rule for everyones wellbeing! A tiny camera can do a lot of damage flying through a car at 100+km/h

Now just hope and pray for good weather :) but if its wet...more sideways action! (In moderation of course)

At the moment I might come and watch, have a list of stuff to fix now, which I should sort out before I take the car to the track again. If theres still spots left when I get it fixed I might participate, but not sure how long it will take to sort out.

Heya

sorry if this has been answered before previously

I've never been to Wakefield before and I'm interested in coming along to watch and hopefully sit in on a drive. Do i just register as a passenger and someone will let me sit in with them on the day or do i have to arrange a specific person to let me sit in when they go on the track???

another nub question just to be sure, when it says "full length sleeves", that just means any long sleeve shirt right?

cheers.

Hey Gordon! Mate u just pay ur $20 and it allows u to jump in with whomever is willing! We are all. friendly bunch so just ask someone and in u hop! No one should feel afraid to ask a driver for a passenger ride!!

Yeah long sleeve tshirt is fine!! Just as long as u are covered from head to toe!

Helmet, long sleeve item, pants, socks and closed shoes  Or race suits obviiusly for those of us who have em!!!

Hi,

2 things...

Firstly, can we organise an L2S license through the club? On the day or should I do it prior. Oh, and how much?

Secondly, can you put my passenger (Nathan Cantore) on the list please - Paid for him last week...

Thanks!

Thanks Ando-san

Hey Chris,

L2S licence is best organised before the day, but you will need an SAU Exec to sign it for you stating that you are a member of SAU-NSW. Link to licence application form: http://cams.com.au/Development/Get%20Invol...ation_2010.ashx It costs $100.

Its going to be cold...

Oh yeah, it certainly will! I suggest EVERYONE come prepared for this - better to have lots of layers of warm clothes and be able to remove them as necessary, rather than freeze to death on the day!

That was a perfect opportunity to promote the jackets lol

Oh yeah, thanks Lizzeh!

Only 4 left!

Remaining stock:

  • 1x grey/black Medium
  • 2x blue/black Medium
  • 1x blue/black 3X-Large

Clearance prices: $110 for non-Members, or $90 for SAU-NSW club Members - that's $20 below usual, and below what it cost us to get them!!!

You guys need any help with volunteering on the day? As it looks like I won't be running at the moment, getting the final work done on the 12th, and still don't know what condition my car will be in.

*********** UPDATE V2.0 ***********

Okay ladies and gents we are approaching the day itself, so we will be potentially closing off entry on this Sunday 5th July 2010!!!!!!!

So.......... if you want to take the remaining final few spots (approx 5-6) then get your payments in ASAP!!! If we happen to receive more payments than spots available, as previously mentioned we can put you on a reserves list, then ultimatley a refund if required.

Second thing to note! We will be accepting $20 cash on the day for passengers to enter :) :) Our kind accountant has been convinced that this will be a easy exercise!! *fingers crossed*

So what we will do is have a desk or someone setup to receive payments and issue out passenger wrist bands!! If in doubt just ask an official and we will point you in the right direction!

So no more stress about payments for passengers before the day. Just rock up and pay your $20!!! Thank you to those who have already paid up for their passenger entry, we will have yours ready to be issued in the morning!

Now is the time for all drivers to start going through the checklist of pre-track day preperation for your cars! Concentrate on fluids, brakes and tyres, all queries should be already answered in this thread anyway, if not just ask :)

Sometime next week i will start to organise groups and commuincate some finer details of the day, so stay tuned kiddies!!!

For all those who have stated they are happy to volunteer and help out, THANK YOU! We will certainly appreciate this on the day, so please make yourselves know in the morning and we can assign you a job!

Time to get excited!! :cool::D

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
