im no electrician but , have u pulled the head unit out and checked the earth wire for the head unit ?  * maybe its loose or something *

im not sure, i havent touched anything since i got it 6 months ago.. maby something has come loose over time.. It just doesnt seem right that it works perfectly normal until i change gears. Even when the handbreak is up and the car isnt moving it does it.

The other night everytime i put my foot down the rev needle would flicker, like it had a nervous twitch, it went from 4 to 5 then flicked to about 2 then in 0.01 of a second back to 4-5...really weird lol

I turn my car off drive the next night, and its back to normal

the valet boot locking switch always seems to manage to lock itself, so more often than not i'll have to use the key to open it.

what's a valet boot locking switch?

weird thing my 32 does is the climate control screen comes on and off randomly (mostly off now)...

Hmmm... where to start...

Had the stereo problem (worked when it wanted)

have the climate control proble (as above)

Have the boost issue, only goes to 'bout 7 thes goes backwards (foot to floor)...

and there's more...

but i cbf writing it all and it should all get fixed soon...

Also: i can feel air flow through the door handes (inside the car).... what's the go there....

my car makes this sound like a computer hard drive reading something that comes from the dash whenever the car gets low on gas say 1/4 mark.....lasts for a good 15-30secs. i cant hear it now cause of the aftermarket exhaust:D:D:D i wonder wat it is. i think its recalculating to conserve fuel or something...i dunno

My wifes auto R33 gets a whistle from down near the computer when i am at a certain load/rpm/throttle position.

My Soarer V8 lost all power to the dash and wouldn't start. I found an aftermarket box under the dash called a Starbo. An automatic engine starter thing it was having a little moment and I couldn't fix it, even when i pulled it out and all it's attached crap so I had to trial and error until I found the part that made it go again, without the Starbo piece of junk.

My track car makes my back push really hard into the seat and can sometimes make lots of smoke from the rear tyres :) and even makes turbo porsche drivers really unhappy....then it made this funny noise from the engine.....

I've come across most of the above and fixed them all, lucky mostly other peoples cars though :)

Stereos usually ground problems (x4), though changing gear is a weird one, so I'll go with the shift linkage or similar pushing on a wire... Climate Air controls, the screen craps out, fixed two of those by resoldering them, easy job. Same with Gxi/GTE/GTS's (not GTSt or any hicas equiped car) power steering modual, fixed three of those which had dry joints.

My climate control makes a knocking sound when i turn the car on does about 8 or so times also does it when the aircon changes fan speed.

yeh thats the same with mine :D

dont quote me on this but * there is a thread somewhere saying theres a little switch or something behind dash for aircon chit' date=' that wears or gets farked somehow * apparently it's cheaper to replace it , then to repair it

( wish i could find that thread again ) Farkin thing is starting to realy piss me of with that stupid * clunk , clunk, clunk.... noise it makes :)

ok i found the thread , try reading this :

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
