Can anyone confirm if these sizes will be a good fit on an R34 GTT Sedan, without the need for spacers, guard roll etc.

DTM Rush wheels

18 x 8.5 +35 fronts

18 x 9.5 +35 rears

I will look at putting 235's on the front and 245/255 on the rear.

There have been a few threads in the past, but no-one has actually gone through with their purchase of the wheels or provided anymore info+pictures.

Cheers

they will fit

but since you asked for a "good fit" no they will look shit house.

Checking the 1010 wheel offset calculator, the best fit in this size for my car would be a 28mm offset for 8.5 on the front, then this would look good? and for the 9.5 on the back they would need a 42 offset would that be correct?

Annoying how the site selling these wheels says perfect staggered fitment for R34 GTT.

I guess they mean they will clear the front calipers.

So when you say they will look 'shit house', they will stick out more than they sit in, making them look at bit tard?

no they will sit in, if they were sitting out it would be good. have a look in the fitment thread for what sizes others have used im sure you can go a bit wider / lower offset if u want to fill the guards if not get what u have chosen

I always use the r34 GTR wheels as a reference when i am looking for wheels. The r34 rims are 18x9+30 fronts and rears. These seem to sit pretty flush on the GTT's so if you had only 8inch wide rims you would want a lower offset say +20-25 if they are wider you may want to get a little higher. There are plenty of pics of GTT's with the GTR wheels so you can get a feel for what they look like and how you want your car to look.

Try this thread, a few in there: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...er-t311136.html

It all depends on what you want? Yes they will fit but will sit in and not look very agressive.

Also come's down to how low the car is now, and how low you plan to go.

Thanks for that link, very helpful.

How about this for fitment on the GTT 18X9 F/R +30, would this suit my needs better?

18x9 +30 is what R34 GTR rims are, an excellent fitment, not over the top but still looks good. Can fit a 245 on the front if you want to remove the inner liner, and can fit a 265 on the rear if you want to roll the guards.

IMO if you dont want to do guard mods 18x9+ 30 with 235/40 will fit well at any height.

235's are so cheap and I don't really want to roll the guards just yet.

Looking to purchase Rota Boost - Gun Metal in 18x9 F/R +30 - R34 GTT Sedan, Midnight purple in colour

(I was thinking silver but reckon that would look to bling!)

245's on the rear would be nice, but you reckon guards would need a slight roll to accommodate.

If I go through with the purchase and once fitted, I will definitely be adding pics to that thread!

rkn just buy what your happy with cos everyone has a different opinion ill tell you to get phat wheels and make them fit no matter what, someone else will say go conservative stick to 30+ offset so really how do you want the car to look is the question.

Pretty much spot on.

I have a 34 sedan with 18x9.5 + 15 i love the look of it, but really its not pracrical, car needs to be slammed to fit. 18.x 9.5 + 25 to me would be perfect for that I want.

but for 90% of people i think what you want (the rota's) will look real nice.

  • 3 weeks later...

Thank you everyone for your input on the wheels, I decided to purchase the ROTA Boost 18x9 +30's as the price was right for me!

Still have to purchase tyres but they are online in NSW for $120 each for Federal 235/40/18's at the moment, so very cheap.

Once wheels are on the car I will post up some pics to http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...er-t311136.html

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
